The world, is it possible?

My favorite anime and game was .hack G-U. For thos of you who know of of it you might of noticed how the people in it play the game. Is it at all possible to be able to make a game like that and be able to play it on thos weird visual goggoles?

Well if I remember correctly nVidia has some sort of headset thing that lets you view current games in 3-D (though it's not quite full 3-D, it just makes a few things pop out). So I'd say that it's possible given today's technology, but for something like The World we'd still need a few more advancements in that field. Maybe someday soon.

I have played wow before and within a couple of days of playing it I got bored of it. I think that the world would be a much better game even if you can be put into a coma.

Just to clear something up. Do you mean like VR, as in there's no controls. You just put on the goggles and you control it through the goggles then I really don't think it's possible, short of brain implants. Although they're are computers you can dictate to through eye movements so maybe it is possible.

I think there where some controls for your thumb but i cant remember. But there was a version for your computer aswell.

Theoretically, yes.

Practically, not with current level of technology. I mean, we are pretty advanced but not to such level of integration.

Maybe in a few decades. I can't wait for thousands of gamers turn comatose because they were ganked (And yes, I know it was different in manga/anime. It was that data drain bracelet thing. But still)

Well i guess they could take out the comatose but it wouldint be as fun

Yes, it is probably possible, but my point was that most of the users will make it nothing like what it was like on the anime. They were all a bit too...sophisticated for people in an MMO.

I have noticed that to. They all seem to be very grow up but those are just a couple of players not everyone in the world. You will notice people like that but not many.
