I've got to second this one. Just because that's the way it is doesn't mean that it isn't a problem.Guffe said:"Because that's the way it is"
I can't coem up with enought situations people have said this to me and thought I'd just accept that without any backup info, whatsoever...
im against that idea, if only because teachers have one of the most stressful jobs in our country right now due to parents, media, and government painting them as terrible people (not to mention dealing with kids). Give them tazers.Hagi said:There's currently a petition about having a gun in every classroom to protect against attacks such as happened in Connecticut...
Which is really freaking stupid when you think about it...
These guns will have to be easily accessible so that when an attacker unexpectedly comes in the teacher can react swiftly and take out the weapon before the shooter can adequately react. It's no use if the teacher has to open up a securely locked container with several safeties and then assemble the weapon whilst the shooter is killing his or her students. And we all know that the combination of children and easily accessible guns never have and never will cause any serious safety issues.
Should they decide to be very extra careful and actually secure these weapons there's of course always the possibility of a teacher in another classroom taking the time to access his or her weapon and rush over to attack the shooter, since clearly the best course of action in that scenario is to rush out leaving his or her students alone to engage the attacker instead of for example evacuating those students whilst they're still in relative safety. Engaging in an open firefight in the middle of a school is clearly the superior option that will lead to the least amount of casualties compared to getting your students the fuck out of there, it's not like stray bullets ever hit bystanders or anything.
It's actually 'your argument is only hate/fear and intolerance driven, with lack of fact or knowledge, therefore I am going to ignore it'fapper plain said:^This kind of thinking.Jenvas1306 said:anything someone ever said against transgender

I don't see how the argument is inaccurate.iseko said:Worst argument ever:'guns don't kill people, people kill people'.
Sorry, but my life is too short to consider every stupid argument, like if you tried to convince me the earth was a disc or a cube, I wouldnt waste time on listening. same goes for talking me into liking twilight or bananas. I just dont like both (for different reasons).fapper plain said:Yes, let's lump all the arguments from one set of viewpoints together and dismiss them without actually listening to them. >.>
This is not to say I think there would be much substance, however dismissing something without even considering it seems rather silly.

Yes, but you cannot commit mass murder with a chinese throwing star.
From this day forth, people will not be permitted to own guns, as they will use them to kill other people, as is their nature.
That wouldn't work, people would just switch back to the more gruesome and bloody ways we used to kill each other in the past.
In this respect not having gun control would probably be the more "humane" thing to do, as a bullet to the brain is generally accepted as being less painful than a knife to the chest.
EDIT: Ok, something went seriously wrong when quoting that post.
Specially for you:MetalDooley said:Slippery slope arguments annoy the fuck out of me.Just because one thing happens does not mean that something else, often completley unrelated,is going to follow
For example I've actually heard people say that if we allow gay marriage then before too long we'll have to remove the age of consent and legalise beastiality
