I always find it funny, how people blame the Umbrella company for everything in their series - yet what they blame them for Umbrella never did.

For example, people always say that "creating zombies as bio weapons is a bad idea". Guess who thought the same? Umbrella. They wanted to create actual controllable weapons. Which they were somewhat successful with their Hunter Alpha and Tyrant. Everything else was just a "let's see what happens if we infect that thing", if it happened on their behalf and most other times just the accidental outbreak.
And speaking of which, there were only three Umbrella was responsible for and two only indirect: Their training facility/train (RE Zero - triggered by Dr. Marcus), their main research facility (RE1 - triggered by Wesker) and Raccoon City (RE 2, RE 3, RE Outbreak 1, RE Outbreak 2 - triggered by an Umbreally Merc Team going after Birkin). And the last one GOT public and Umbrella WAS shut down by the government. That's even straight up stated in the RE4 intro.

So, research fail, just to put them on a list for a joke?

You had to choose from worst companies in Deus Ex and you've picked Sarif Industries of all? Instead of a fuckin' Belltower?
You know, those PMCs that are not shy of employing war criminals and kidnapping and murdering civilians, en masse.

I'd put Ryan Industries on there - maybe not the above-water part, but DEFINITELY the part in Rapture. At least above-water, Ryan was (mostly) sane. :)

Why not Bank of America? You know, the company that helped devastate the world economy?

Let's see, on one hand, a banking corporation that helped cause the financial collapse with predatory loans and various shady business practices. On the other... a company that makes video games you don't like.

Tough call there.
Because complaining about banks, would be like complaining about drug cartels putting people in oil drums and setting them on-fire. Nobody expects much good behavior from either group. A game company though? Takes some work to get people to hate you.
In which case, we're not actually talking about the worst company in the world. Just because I except something / someone to be awful doesn't mean it's magically better than an entertainment company.

OCP.

When they're not busy bankrupting major cities, selling hazardous products, and taking "liberties" with dead-people brain, they fire massively employed-underpaid people for the fun of it.
And if they can't fire you, they fire ON you with absurdly overgunned killing machines.

Good side tho: you can screw your secretary, then put the blame on her when you screwed yourself.
And they do nice commercials.

And Team Rocket?
Come on. At least, they don't send little boys alone on "adventures" with a noname critter for all support, or designed a virtual jail for said critters with brainwashing functions.

I gotta agree with the people talking about Sarif industries. Especially given the fact the CEO helped save your life, turned out to actually not stab you in the back and seemed to genuinely care about people. Also not liking the dig at Adam. It's been a while but from in canon (pregame), Adam actually refused the order to kill, and the order was passed to someone else, who followed it, which was the incident that lead to him resigning.

Plus, you know, there's fucking Belltower or Tai Yong Medical.
