This is quite an odd post and for that i apologise. I want to know if other people have experienced the same issue as i have.
I have the play and charge kit for the Xbox 360 but no matter how many times i fully charge the bloody controller, 20 mins later its signaling that it is low on battery.... Has anyone else experienced this???

how long have you had the kit? If you've had it for a very long time then it's just doing what all other rechargable batteries do

Just get a wired one, they don't run out of battery and they're cheaper anyways :/

If it is a new controller/battery, then you got one on the far left of the bell curve for expected lifespan.

If it is used, then the previous owner may have decreased its capacity to hold a charge.

Also, check to see how long the battery actually lasts, because it could be a false signal as well.

I just use rechargeable batteries and they will be fuly charged and I still get it. Even when I check through the dashboard it reads as full. I think mine is a bit loose though since I was playing a game that required alot of buttonmashing and my controller batteries disconnected a few times.

check the actual power of the batteries by pressing the Xbox button. mine signals I have low battery when I have 3 bars worth, i just ignore it generally. If that's not the problem I can't help you.

it will be the kit then. I don't know whats wrong with it now as it's fairly new

EDIT: then again i've had one of mine flash, pressed the guide button and it had 3 bars, so it might not actually be running out

Probably just broken, nothing much you can do. If you recently bought it you might be able to return it because it is broken.

Do you have the official microsoft play and charge kit or another one. My friend's one has a similar problem. But I have Gamestop's own brand charger and I've never had an issue with it.

Yeah i have the official Microsoft one

You've probably left it on charge too long, like over night for example. In the long term, this messes up batteries.

I've never had this problem actually. After I got my 360 in November 07 I went out and got the Nyko rechargeable batteries and recharger, with the cable you can plug into your xbox to recharge the batteries while playing. I typically get at least 20 hours of play before it starts signaling I need to recharge. Then I can just plug the cable into my xbox and keep playing while the battery charges. I've heard both bad and good about the Nyko rechargeable batteries, but I've had nothing but great luck with them.

And yes, never charge a battery for too long, or let it run completely dry. It's extremely hard on them and it'll wear them out really fast. In the instructions it should tell you about how long it'll take to recharge a battery, or there should be an indicator on the recharging station. Don't let them stay in too long, you're not going to get super powered batteries, you're going to get toasted shit.

This happend to me, and I finally just gave up and bought a huge pack of AA batteries. Like any rechargable battery, it looses its ability to hold a charge after a while. Same thing happens to laptops and cellphones after a while.

The battery might be defective. Also as a general rule, you don't want to have those kinds of batteries plugged in all the time, especially during use because it will kill the battery life.

I repeat, I've used Nyko rechargeable battery packs, and the Nyko recharge cable for about a year and 6 months, and they still work fantastically. I get a constant 20 hour charge out of them, and I can charge while playing a game, even after using them constantly for well over a year. Try it out, at the worst you're out 25 bucks, at best you won't have to waste money on AA batteries anymore.
