I think it was sophomore year of high school. I was in an elective class that taught us how to use game maker. Most of us had finished the assignment for the day and were screwing around. Then two guys started arguing about whether or not Tae Kwon Do was a sport and a few of us were listening in(I believe the rest of us were tossing a ball around or something). The individual who claimed it was a sport said "It is in the Olympics." Now I have little respect for Tae Kwon Do for a variety of reasons and so decided to chime in. "Do you mean the special Olympics? Because as funny as it would be to watch a pair of disabled people beat on each other, I am not sure that means it's a sport." After we all laughed a bit one of the people who was passing the ball around told me "You are going to hell."

I agree with that statement.

I hesitated, and said "Too bad their aren't any druid around here, then we wouldn't have this problem". My friend grinned, and hesitated himself "Fuck. He should have rolled shaman". We both felt like awful people for the rest of the day, either for the poor taste, or blatant nerdiness, I am not sure.
You're not going to hell. Or rather, if you do, it's only to get your friend out of there, in some sort of epic "Bill & Ted" type of adventure. Your words are your own way of wishing him back. It was not tasteless; it was a shared understanding. Out of all the formal words spoken at his funeral, yours are probably what reached him the most.

Here's to the Final Respawn, my friends.

You know, I've had hundreds of "I'm going to Hell" moments, but I can't for the life of me think of any examples. I can think of a friend's over anything, simply because of how bad it was.

He was having casual relations with a girl. Being safe and everything. But, one day she called him up and said "I'm late." His initial response was...

"You need to get an abortion."

Then he hung up. They haven't talked since.

EDIT: Oh! Thought of one. Happened less than a week ago to.

Okay, so same friend and I were at his house and it was about 3:30 A.M. and we were bored. So, we did our new boredom thing; Chatroulette. And we found these 3 douchebag Japanese kids, and they immediately started making fun of us. Needless to say, it upset us, so my friend did the greatest thing he's ever done. He imitated the cliched missile drop sound, and I instinctively imitated an explosion as he made a mushroom cloud with his hands. These 3 Japs immediately stopped laughing and just went slackjawed, as if we just completely ruined their lives. Just watching their face go from "Ha! Fatass Americans! You're stupid!" to jaws dropped in shock was perhaps the greatest thing I've ever seen.

OMG you and your friend win at Chatroulette and life for this bravo sirs bravo! You are horrible human beings according to morals and ethics but to me you are heroes for what its worth again bravo. Its always the spontaneous things that are the funniest in life be proud that you went with it because this was a once in a life time moment and you made the most of it!

mine was several years ago at school. A girls grand-father died and she was sitting around being quiet. I sat beside her and asked what was going on. She said he grand-fathers funeral was right after school and she wasnt sure if she would be able to go. I asked if he was generally the type of guy that was one time. She gave me a strange look and said no, he wasnt. Lets see if his luck keeps up and he late for his own funeral.
*smack*
then she pouts and walks off.

I had the best intentions. I was trying to be humorous and hint toward the fact that she would probably get to go regardless. ugh... yea, i felt like an ass. (she apologized for smacking me but otherwise she didnt talk to me for a month :p)

i don't get this..

is this a troll moment or..?
It's not a troll post, it's something awful on 4chan, which is why the poster put in the "Going to Hell thread."

As for the thread, I've made too many to remember. They're all tasteless and boring now, but when I was younger I seriously enjoyed the giggles. I'm surprised I haven't turned into a serial killer yet or something by it, maybe I just lacked the attention span to even consider serial killing a life pa-...

Oh, flashy lights!

It's more of a sport than cheer leading, polo, swimming, and golf ever were, at least.

...ALSO

back in 5th grade, we went to the courthouse for a field trip, and we were able to sit in on a very serious case, in which someone was getting put away for some very serious financial fraud thing, in which right when the jury found them "guilty", in which in the dead silence my friend down the row had the loudest high pitch fart wrap right off the wooden bench..and being the easily giggled person i am, i started cracking up, in which the judge screamed at us to both get out, and we were suspended =[ so yeah i highly regret that..

Oh, wow. That is awesome. I had a friend do something like that once, but it wasn't so serious.
That made my day though.

You know, everyone deals with grief differently. Honestly, just accept whatever you are feeling at the moment. We can't be sorrowful every second, our brains rebel. If you find yourself angry one moment and laughing the next and then sad again right afterward, it is all okay. Try not to upset others who aren't feeling the same thing at the same moment, but it really is okay to joke or laugh or feel most anything. It means you are at least addressing your grief and that means you are on the road to healing. That is a lot better than bottling it all up. This is true for the OP at least.

I also made a horrible comment recently that I didn't realise was horrible until a week later. Essentially, I'd heard my roomate and her boyfriend having sex, and the following morning she was looking really depressed in the living room. She told me not to worry, and as something intended as a light-hearted throwaway joke I said "hey, at least Jake's condom didn't break".

It did...she has an STD now...i feel horrible
I'm sorry but that is absolutely hilarious.

Well, this girl (she's like 20. I think they make the mentally challenged stay until they're 21-22 or so) was out sick. We were told to make cards for her, and my friend muttered, "Let's make some cards for some 'tards." Now, she looks a lot like a bird, so I imitated the stereotypical voice of a Downs Syndrome patient and went, "I reawwy wike birds. I reawwy do, Jonafan." We both started laughing uncontrollably.

Do I feel bad?

Err... not really. I'm a horrible person sometimes.

You know what I'm talking about. You did something that you thought was awesome, or said something you thought was hilarious, but afterward you needed 12 consecutive shame-showers to feel better about yourself again.

The reason I bring it up? I had one yesterday. Recently, a friend of mine passed away, and it was quite tragic. A friend and myself were in line for the wake yesterday, and the line went all the way out the building, down the driveway, and down the sidewalk for another 200 or so ft. So my friend and I were killing time in between the morbid silence.

Now, to preface this, the 3 of us all played WoW rather avidly. So during the line, which was cold as fuck, my friend and I started cracking WoW jokes. First in relation to the weather with things like "Man, we should have stacked frost resist. We're gonna wipe.", and "I'd use my campfire, but it's on CD. :(". Then we paused for a second.

P.S., For those of you not in the know, in WoW, druids have a spell called "Rebirth" that can be cast in combat and under pretty much any circumstance to resurrect a player. Shamans have a spell called "Reincarnate" that allows them to instantly come back to life after death.

This might have been especially tasteless because he committed suicide. :(

....

Post yours, ladies and gents. I'm curious to see just how atrocious of human beings we have here at TE.
Inappropriate or not, that was funny as hell. My hat off to you sir!

Now, assuming I believe in hell for a minute, there's been a couple times where I've felt like an absolute bastard after doing something. The first was when I laughed at a 9/11 joke (I'm not American so it didn't really affect me a whole lot, but I realize how tragic it is. Its just the joke was SO funny.) which is pretty self explanatory, and the other was when I found out someone had aids. People were talking about how he got it, and I said from he got it from 'cake' (Yahtzee quote) They didn't get it but I felt bad for a while after that.

When one of my uncles who I didn't really know died when I was about 10 or 8 and my Father told a story about how his Brother and my Uncle were fighting a bully and my Uncle pounced on him, my Father started crying while recounting the story with sadness in his voice I asked him, while he was still talking I asked "Why are you pretending to be sad?". I'm now debating weather I'm a sociopath, or an uncaring asshole.

I find it interesting that everyone thinks that they're going to hell for their actions... if God sent people to hell for stuff like that we would all burn. I'm a biblical scholar and having extensively studied scripture, I know that anyone who tells you you're going to hell is just a pretentious asshole who would have really pissed of Jesus. once I read the bible, I figured out that all the things priests and people told me were dead wrong, so don't belive anyone preaching that fire and brimstone bullshit. God loves you no matter how much of a bastard you are, because he just that great of a guy.

This has nothing to do with a literal "That is a sin, you are going to hell" sin, and everything to do with a "That was SO fucking inappropriate I should be punished" moment. You completely missed the point.

I can't tell if you're being serious or sarcastic.

So I'll assume you are being serious and say thank you!

I have one for me and my sister. Me: the fact that I do say whenever I'm truly surprised; Jesus titty fucking christ.

My sister: My sister and her friend were in her room talking when she got a phone call from her boyfriend at the time. His mother had died. She asked when her funeral was and he said Friday. She said she'd try to attend for him. My sister gets off the phone and her friend asks what was up. My sister tells her and the friend also asks when the funeral was. she says friday. To which her friend says: "Isn't there a sale on Friday?!?!" "Oh yeah! Well I guess I won't be able to make it!"

My sister and her friend were DYING laughing! She told me and my parents and we laughed too!
*sighs* I'm going to hell xD

There's nothing wrong there at all. Anyone who has lost anyone that has meant anything to them all crack jokes with their friends to alleviate the situation. I cracked jokes about my dad when he died of cancer. It hurt like hell that he was dead, but I honestly believe the part of him that survives death wanted me to be as sarcastic and ridiculous about death as I could be. We all die. And if there's something more than death, why shouldn't we mock it? And if there's nothing...what have we got to lose?

I dated upwards 20-25 different women for sex only, propagated relationships, and ended them after they fell in love.
