So I've been driving myself crazy for the last few weeks, because in damn near every episode of ZP, Yahtzee uses a face as a stand-in for people or whatever, but I can't figure out who it is. I've watched all the early episodes, and the earliest one I've found with it is Tomb Raider Anniversary IIRC, but he never says who the guy is.

Anyone know?

This question gets asked every once in a while. Apparently it's a result of Google image search for "expressionless face", although i do not know who made the photograph.

Another one of these threads.....
It's just an emotionless face he uses when refering to people in general.
It still has to be somebody's face.

I actually always thought it was Rick Astley? I guess I just kind of assumed (the first time I saw it) and never questioned myself. After a google image search, I'm quite obviously wrong.

He did a live interview at GameX, during which he said he did a Google Image search for "emotionless face". After trawling for a a while he stumbled onto a photographer's collection of portraits which were meant to be emotionless. Croshaw picked that one because it was the most bland, emotionless photo he could find.
Ah. Somehow in my searching, I managed to miss that *facepalm*

It's just a guy with an expesionless face. He picked the one with the least amount of anything (smiles, frowns, any sort of expression) in it.

I'm sure this thread (as a near-exact clone) has been done before.

Whatever. I'm just going to go with everyone else's statements that he Googled it.

Let me Google that for you, buddy [http://lmgtfy.com/?q=expressionless+face]

He answered this on one of the Q&A videos a while back; He basically just google'd "boring man" or something, and that was the most expressionless face he could find.

No, he didn't answer it. He didn't say who this person is, and what his name is. So we still don't know who this man is and that's what we want to find out.

Now that I look at it, they do look remarkably similar, if Astley had a haircut and a suit.

It's from a photo collection called 'Thomas Ruff Portraits'. As already said, Yahtzee found it whilst looking ffor 'Expressionless face' and thought that that was the best one he could find, as he said at the GameX interview.

Funnily enough, I found this image from searching The Escapist's forums for the image. A thread about the same toopic popped up and someone had posted the original image in it.

If you want to watch the interview, it turns out the Escapist saved it.

Which I didn't notice until several hours ago.
Cool. Thanks for the link to that Diagonal.

I'm surprised how often that this comes up, do people pay that much attention to the pictures used in ZP?
[small]They obviously do.[/small]
