Exactly, it's Microsoft's fault, not theirs, therefore there is no rage about "Derp they're abandoning PC". The Xbox doesn't really get anything exclusive anyway when dealing with multi platform games. I honestly can't think of a single game I own where the Xbox got DLC exclusively. Generally DLC will be available slightly earlier for the Xbox, such as COD map packs, which doesn't matter since everyone will get it eventually anyway.Mr. Omega said:I put before that it was more circumstances than anything else, and that it was M$'s fault.
Not so much arrogance as irritated by the ignorance of people who believe that PC gamers spend an absurd amount of money on a game dedicated box. Last I checked, a PC doesn't just play games and a lot of the PC gamers on this site think it's a waste of time and money to buy a game dedicated box when their computer could do everything.Glass Joe the Champ said:So spend 200$ on a console and pay for some DLC, or spend 900$ on a gaming computer and get free DLC. I'll stick with a console, thank you.
Honestly, the PC gaming arrogance around here is getting annoying. Some of us don't have piles of disposable income.
Yep, I got it for $30 on Steam, it's advertising the 2.0 update as well. I'm still on my first playthrough of the first game but I know I'd get the 2nd one eventually once I complete a couple games on my to-play list.Irridium said:It's on sale now, actually. $30 on Steam, and on the 29th it'll be $30 on GoG.CardinalPiggles said:FUCK, I guess I should buy it on PC then...
Hurry up Winter, I want a Steam sale.
The lack of anger is because its not CD Projekt's fault. Generally when threads like this pop up that cause anger it is directed at the developer/publisher. As you show with your quotes in fact. Here the villain is Microsoft, who is not the main topic of the article. If it had been named "Microsoft forces you to pay for Witcher 2 DLC" there would be a lot of rage.Mr. Omega said:I put before that it was more circumstances than anything else, and that it was M$'s fault.Richardplex said:It's not that PC is getting special treatment, it's that Microsoft are not giving their customers the normal treatment, thus it appears to be special treatment for the PC.Mr. Omega said:Hmmm, so circumstances favoring one platform is perfectly ok, when it's the PC that's getting the special treatment? Gotta love this site's community's double standards...
However, this is for DLC that isn't currently planned, so this is likely a non-issue.
That being said, this is purely M$'s fault, not CD Projekt's. CD is awesome like that.
See how there is no rage here? I'm just saying that if there was any circumstance that involved the 360 version getting something special as opposed to the PC version, this thread would have been filled with "Oh, CD Projekt are sellouts, how DARE they abandon PC Gamers!" and "They sold out for the console kiddies!" instead of "Well, this is completely fair and reasonable."
Okay, so basically, it's our fault that console gamers are passive to Microsoft's abusive treatment.Mr. Well, yeah. That's because if that were to happen it could only be if CD Projekt themselves decided to be dicks. Therefore people would of course be calling CD Projekt sellouts. That's the thing about the PC, there's nobody standing between you and the publisher. Anything good or bad you can attribute directly to the publisher and devs. On console you have the whole corporate apparatus in the way.Mr. Omega said:See how there is no rage here? It took me a while but I learned my lession. Either spend a few extra hundred dollars and get a rig that can play graphics intensive games or be as cheap as possible and get something solely for surfing the web and Microsoft office programs. The average person already spends a ridiculous amount of money on computers that can't do more than basic, every day tasks and uses an integrated graphics chip.
It's possible to do a gaming PC that runs Crysis, Crysis 2, and Witcher 2 pretty much maxed at 1080p for $500, so yeah, pretty much +1 this post. You can do other stuff on a PC; tell me when I can do Excel spreadsheets on the 360.gunner1905 said:So spend 200$ on a console (+ $300 for a proper TV + $60 a year for Xbox live)and pay for DLC, or spend 700$ on a gaming computer and get free DLC. Honestly, the console gaming ignorance around here is getting annoying. Some of us don't have piles of disposable income just to buy a toy, we also need our pc for work. I'd be happy to pay for DLC if it's worth-wile though.
