Back in my day we only needed 8 bits to identify our Pokemon. You young whippersnappers and your 10 bit Pokemons. We only two versions and we got along just fine and-zzzzzzzzzzzz.

The list of Pokemon is getting really huge now. I wonder how many will be made before the series runs out of steam.

I'm very surprised. I find myself liking a far higher percentage of the full roster than of what we knew before the game's release. And maybe it's just me, but I'm spying some heavy Green and Red influence here. Yeah, even some simple animal based designs get "unnecessary" details, but this feels like a wonderful marrying of Gen I and Gen IV. (For the record, to me Gen IV felt like an odd mash-up of Gen II and Gen III.)

Looking through, I'm recognizing very few Pokémon which could either evolve from or into an older Pokémon. Fresh new experience indeed!

I managed to beat the Elite 4 + Lance with just Feraligatr, Ampharos, Torterra, Charizard, Kengaskhan, and Pigeot My Feraligatr managed to beat Lance since it new Ice Fang and Dragon Claw

Wow, I bet I look stupid. My team was Typhlosion, Kingler, Pidgeot, Scyther, Skarmory, and Kadabra, none of which knew any Ice or Dragon type moves. I relied on Kingler's Guillotine to get thru Clair and Lance.

On Topic, I like how most of the new pokemon look. I was already contemplating buying the new games or not, but I probably will now.

They look more japanese if that makes any sense, but again they just don't look as cool as the first 300 (up to gold n'silver). While some of them look alright, most of them look silly or are just really lame.

That said, I won't be getting anymore pokemon games. I already have about 10 of them and they don't do anything for me since they over use all the same elements over and over.

What other elements could they add? their is no more =S unless you count plasma but that is the name of the evil gang of this region...Team Plasma

Sorry if that wasn't clear. I mean how it always turns out the same when you start of with one pokemon (fire, water & grass), catching lesser pokemon for little support, finding the same items again (same HMs) and using the same old boring moves with the same old boring animations. It's so boring, they need to add new elements to the game play.

Ok, my reading is now considerably bad.

The animations in this game have changed, completely new =D their are brand new moves to use, and it will always be Fire Water Grass, because those are the easiest type to use. Nintendo may change it maybe to something like Rock, Fighting, and Flying? but for now that is a really small complaint.

Small to you but huge to me since this is why I'm over it. I'm a bloody veteran when it comes to Pokemon games and I'm defintely not alone on this.

Also, the animations are still roughly the same as well as the moves. Fire, Water & Grass doesn't have to be the easiest to use, they could be as creative as they want but once again they do the same thing. And that's what they're gonna keep on doing because they keep on getting away with it.

Actually this is a huge complaint because it's why I'm sick of Nintendo all together.

I like- the new dragon typings, the fact that there is a fully evolved mono dragon type, and a mono flying type, both for the first time. Several strong looking bug types, ice, and dark types.

I am a bit disappointed in that, there aren't any new eeveeloutions, the fire starter is totally sucky(no spd, def, or sdef.) And unless some of these have some outrageous new moves, I don't see any of them replacing my current teams for wifi battles.

I wasn't really looking forward to seeing the new pokes after I saw the initial leaks/announcements. I thought they were really scraping the bottom of the barrel int eh designs department to bleed more money out of a cherished franchise (which they are though, I suppose).

But now I think I was wrong. While there are a lot of misses, there are a LOT more hits. Can't wait to put together my team: Jaroda, Doryuuzu, Roopushin, Abagoora, Ononokusu, Wargle.

And for the record, my favourite generation is R/S/E, and my favourite pokemans is Aggron.

Is it just me...or does Aggron sound like a train in the games?

can't wait to get hold of this, the creatures seem a bit hit and miss but I like them over all.
Some like Ononokusa, Daikenki and Gigaiasu look awesome where some like Zuruzukin and Gamagaru look stupid.

One or two remind me to much of old pokemon as well like Doreida reminds me a bit of Bellosom and Baffuron reminds me of Tauros (except with a Afro) but we had that in previous gens too (Beautifly and Butterfree for instance).

649 for all to see to be a Pokemon Master is my Destiny...

You do not use warm colors for a water type dammit! At a glance that looks like a fire-type, the only indication its water are the two tiny fins on its arms that are usually hidden by something. Its the only pokemon that seriously pisses me off with its design.
