There has not been a single Tom Clancy game that has been good for awhile now.

The last good Rainbow Six game was Raven Shield (Sorry Rainbow Six Vegas fans)

The last good Ghost Recon game was the 2nd one on the Xbox: (Sorry Advanced Warfighter fans)

The last good Splinter Cell game was Chaos Theory: (Sorry Double Agent fans)

What do we have now? Rainbow Six is getting a Zombie game. Ghost Recon feels irrelevant in this era of Call of Duty and Battlefields and what have you, a new Splinter Cell game so far is MIA and I don't know if they are even gonna capture what made the first 3 games special. And the Division games I feel are not worthy of what Tom Clancy games used to be.

Realism, Tactical, Mil-sim esque Gameplay. Now everything just feels way too....stylized. It lost the grit and realism. And the gameplay is certainly a far cry from the old tactical games.

I mean he died. So I would assume he can't help write stories or construct proper military scenarios that go into the games and bare his namesake. Now they just use his name because the own the right to it and people are familiar with it.

If Call of Duty was open world, and Battlefield actually had a sandbox singleplayer, then yeah, maybe Ghost Recon would be irrelevant. Instead, Wildlands and the upcoming Breakpoint look better than Battlefield and COD combined.

oof really? Wildlands must be one of the most boring and empty open world games I've ever played, did it even have a story? From what I remember pretty much every mission was just clearing enemy bases and collecting resources which is something that's been plaguing Ubisoft games since at least Far Cry 3, until you unlock the final enemy base where you kill the antagonist who had 5 seconds of screen time. Not to mention that the shooting sucks.

I can't say that Battlefield or COD had good singleplayers in recent years but at least the gameplay and the multiplayer is still fun.

Meh. Still better than any Ghost Recon that came before it.

Really enjoyed Splinter Cell Blacklist. Superb stealth thriller with great gameplay and a story that never lost momentum. Though that is now also 6 years ago. Ubi seems to have completely abandoned story driven SP games in general in favor of their checklist driven open world GaaS crap made to waste your time.

The Division 2 seems to have made a good impression.

I'm one of these heathens who happens to quite like Siege, I'll have you know. :p

And Wildlands was *alright*. Not your typical TC game, I agree, more like a stealth-focused Mercenaries, but I enjoyed it. The Predator mission was bloody epic, with all the music and sound effects from the films.

On the subject of Wildlands expansion missions, there was a recent Wildlands mission that featured characters from Siege and another with characters from Splinter Cell. There is also a rumour that Wildlands characters could be appearing in Siege at some point, perhaps as one of the timed co-op campaigns they have from time to time like Contagion and Rainbow is Magic. Seems they are trying to create a kind of Expanded Universe for all the TC games.

All 3 clancy games are dead.

Splinter cell used to be best ubisoft franchise plus iconic stealth series. it was ruined after chaos theory. and when conviction released it become dumbed down action game

Ghost recon was suppose to be realistic tactical shooter. then become gears of war clone and now another generic open world game.

Rainbow six was close quarter combat tactical realistic FPS. then become gears of war with terrorist when rainbow six vegas released and now its online game on MLG and in future it will be zombie coop game.

Siege is a pretty tight game and package overall, makes me very much wish I could feel comfortable playing those types of games. Blacklist was the best splinter cell let down solely by the lack of Ironside. Wildlands felt fun, but yet again requires team of humans to feel comfortable with for optimal fun times, though the team AI weren't bad either.

Wrong. It was "Blacklist". Had some crapy online tumors, but overall was a good game.

And can't really speak for myself, but heard mostly good things about "Siege" through these last years.

Ah, got to it before I did.

I?m firmly of the impression that it?s the hipster knee-jerk response to say Chaos Theory was the last good Splinter Cell; I highly doubt those same people even PLAYED Blacklist. Double Agent and Conviction were admittedly not great, but were still good games. But Blacklist was a genuinely great SC game, arguably up there with Chaos Theory if you can get your head out of your ass and wrapped around the idea of Michael Ironside not being the voice of Sam Fisher.

I entirely disagree. I had a lot of fun with all the Splinter Cell games, and I've had a blast playing The Division 1&2 as well as Wildlands with a couple of mates.

"Good" seems to be incredibly subjective when it comes to games, especially ones that have a relatively famous name attached to them.

Blacklist is easily worst in series. even conviction was not that bad.

blacklist has mass effect like breiefing in a splinter cell game, some of the worst level design plus invisible walls, forced FPS segments, more action than stealth, and last no michael ironside and sam fisher sound too generic.

its just terrible game overall. Chaos theory was masterpiece.

You know what, since a considerable amount Ubisoft's output is made up of the same basic mechanics, they should just roll it into a single shared universe. Like the MCU, but with Ubisoft franchises. All leading up to a giant crossover game extravaganza.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Splinter Division of Crying Assassins..

That...makes a lot of sense. There's precedents of fighting games with lots of random characters from all over in it for no reason, after all. I'd not be super surprised if they tried that. I'd be surprised if it worked, though.

This is patently false, even as a subjective opinion.

even conviction was not that bad.
This we can agree on.

Your nitpicks are extremely niggling to label it the ?worst? in a series when there?s no shortage of complaints to be leveled at the more obvious candidates; Blacklist has some of the best level designs since Chaos Theory, and as for ?more action that stealth,? that?s simply objectively false. Each level of the game allows for and rewards accordingly for distinct playstyles: ?Ghost? is pure stealth, largely nonlethal wherein you remain undetected (impossible in a game that?s ?more action that stealth,?) ?Panther? is a mixture of stealth and lethality which forgives the occasional detection by enemies and ?Assault? is maximum lethality and gunplay, aka: your ?action? option. How did I manage to complete every level with a ?Ghost? rating in a game that?s ?more action than stealth?? Leads me to believe you either 1.) didn?t play it very well, 2.) didn?t play it very long, 3.) haven?t played it at ALL or 4.) as you?re wont to do, ignoring the degrees of severity that make up the vast gulf between opposing, superlative opinions.

Chaos theory was masterpiece.
This we can agree on.
