i had a 14 year old collie who we had to put down due to arthitis complications
he was the best, most docile dog ever, except for when my brother was playing with him and ran into a pole. my mom went over to help but he blocked her barking alot, thinking she had hurt him

We owned perhaps a total of eight gerbils, and only one of them lived to die of old age/natural causes. The rest were killed by the family cat.

In retrospect, it was probably a poor choice of animal considering the cat.

My cat got hit by a car, while running from the big dogs across the street who killed our other cats, and most recently, my mothers beloved rat.

I was so sad when it happened. Poor Cuddles. I miss you! T-T

I sympathize with your pain.

Nothing has ever happened to my animals like that. But if I were you, I would go coyote hunting, and wouldn't come back until I killed one.

My cat got hit right outside my house...then the bastard told me he didn't do it, that he found my cat like that...I pretty much bawled my eyes out, and this was after my other cat died from kidney failure 3 months earlier. Oh, and my old neighbor's poisoned my puppy cause she was part wolf and they didn't like her...I came home from school one day to find her dead on my bed...she died in her sleep...*sad*

So, to help ease the pain, we got 3 new dogs...2 of them are my babies, the other annoys the hell out of me. Oh, all of this with my pets happened like...4 years ago...we got 2 of my 3 dogs about 4 months after the death of my puppy and we just got our 3rd dog, a mutt puppy, recently...just so you didn't think we got 3 dogs at once.

I've told this story multiple times, but we had, a long time ago, a suicidal canary that never sang. It's sole purpose in life was to escape its cage and kill itself. It always failed. One time, it flew into the oven just as my mom closed the door; we got it out and it was standing on top of the pie, just shifting its feet around. It died of old age.

We also had a Siamese fighting fish that, besides fighting with its reflection, did absolutely nothing. It died in about three weeks. My sister was heartbroken and made a little grave for it on our sideyard. I forget where it is. I think the gravestone is gone.

My kitten Willow was crushed to death by my sister's cousin when I was a little kid.

I still hate that punk, because he's STILL a little prick.

My cat Sega got eaten by a raccoon and left him on the front porch. Oddly enough it's my first memory because it happened when I was 3. Anyone want another kitten I got 7 and my parents want nothing more to put them in a plastic bag and throw them in a lake and if I wasn't there guarding them for the first few days they would have.

I once had my life saved by a chihuahua. There was a pitbull running after me to maul me when I was 9, when all of a sudden my neighbor came over with her chiuhuahua on her leash and the pitbull stopped. Looked at me. Looked at the chihuahua. Looked at me again. Then decided the chihuahua was an easier prey and I made my escape.

You said nature, so:

My first dog, Startrek, had liver cancer. She had massive internal bleeding. She was a fat dog, but when she was bleeding it looked like she had eaten another dog half her size. She was a great dog. dumb as a doornail, but one of the nicest dogs I ever met. We had to put her down, saddest night I can remember to-date.

Also, sorry for your loss. Wait a while then start looking for another kitten when you're ready, it'll help.

No pets have died on me, unless you count my fish drowning, there were stories about killer turkeys attacking small children around Thanksgiving though. (Not joking!)
