The developers on the new wolfenstein game have just confirmed that they have no intentions of including multiplayer in the upcoming game and plan on making it a purely single player experience. I personally find this very interesting because while I like multiplayer in games like Halo, in other games they just seem kinda tacked on. I imagine this will be interesting and good news for many. Also, there's an interview on the page with the developers. I'm still watching it but it looks very interesting so far.

EDIT:

Ok, now that I've watched the interview, I have to say it sounds pretty interesting. The main points seem to be that the developers are focusing on

Big ass guns
Wide enemy variety with multiple types of enemy robots
An emphasis on exploration
Developed characters and villains. At one point the person who played the demo remarked that he was on a train to infiltrate Berlin...on second thought you may want to watch for yourself.

Here's said interview.

I am sudden;y optimistic about this game, if only because of confirmation they do give a shit about single player.

Surely on PC they could at least give us the option, just wall off parts of a lvl and let us have at it unbalanced or not. Surely wouldn't take that much effort since theres no balancing to do. O well. Maybe it will be mod friendly and can be added in.... right...

Wouldn't that trash their metacritic score? And adding mutiplayer to a non multiplayer game is not really mod territory... though maybe multiplayer assets from other ID5 games could be used to do it.
