So, i've been seeing a lot of threads up recently of people bitching about the mods and their systems and all that junk, and I had a think. I came to the conclusion that these forum's moderators are some of the best there is and this community is so much better for them, that I decided to make a thread about praising the mods, so here it is, say any(good)thing you want about the mods.

No moderator is perfect, but some are better than others. A year ago the moderation here was a joke. Now it's much better IMO. I personally think the RoC could do with some serious tweaking, but the moderators mostly do an acceptable job of enforcing the current rules. I think it's quite important when discussing these things to appreciate the difference between bad moderation and bad rules.

Edit:
Is there any way to suggest changes to the rules, or are they like carved in stone or something? The RoC page doesn't say if/where/how you can make suggestions.

And by becoming a moderator, he has now succesfully concluded the first phase of his plan.

Psssh. The mods here like totally suck, and that Nasrin, god, she never accepts my proposal for April Fools shenanigans where we ban everyone who posts in a randomly selected thread for a year. Something about public relations and not want to expose the general forum population to my insatiable bloodlust.

I agree with the "mostly" part, incidentally. However, I chalk up the rest to human error. Most of us make mistakes, and you're really not going to see any difference in that from mods. Granted, they're probably where they are because they're better behaved, but they're still human.

Well, except the Moderatron 9000, but they haven't worked the bugs out of him yet.

I've never seen any moderator action, nor seen any situation that requires it.

I guess that's a good job on their part.

The mods are great, you just have to be careful that you install them correctly, even a small mistake can make your game crash on startup.

The escapist forum moderators are nice too.

Outside a few minor suggestions I've made before I don't have any real problems with them.

I disagree. Asserting an opinion can have you warned here. Hell, I was suspended recently for wishing that the Steubenville rapists and those who supported them would die. If you can be banned by causing offense to rapists then the mods are abusing their powers. They banned all the people on these forums I found funny and interesting (I don't really know any of the new people so don't think that I'm saying you aren't those things) and killed the community for me.

They used to be a whole lot better, but after one March Madness they started swinging that hammer, liberally.
