I am going to do the applications process a bit differently. If you want to apply for the game you need to first write an intro into the series. Preferably during the operation for your mods/ home brew body hacks. You are having new and exciting things done to your bodies, your shaved, naked, and being prodded with wires and needles like a knock off wolverine doll. Those who are not accepted will die do to surgical complications. Have fun!

During the turn of the century the military cranked out a new dog tag, a monitor. Originally it was placed in soldiers to identify them, monitor vitals, and keep track of them. Seeing the great potential the government made it mandatory for all citizens to be tagged, a simple i.d. chip placed at the base of the neck. The chip was worked into the nervous system and connected to major functions to give a constant read of all the individuals vitals and diagnose issues for doctors. The free market grabbed onto the technology and tried to run with it, they released a phone chip that could be imbedded in the individual, but the prototypes were bugged and caused a massive out break of cancers and madness.

The government then made a decisive move to ban the free market and individuals from "adding onto, interfering with, or modifying the tag or their own body". The ban backfired and caused a series of rebellious youth to concoct all sorts of home brewed mods, many failing in their infancy and leading to death or other complications. A new war grew. Like the war against drugs the Government and mothers of the free world began to campaign against mods. "Mods killed my son" posters and commercials spread like wild fire, but did little to quell the Body Hackers, the Mods, the freaks. The campaign back fired and fueled the movement. The educated saw a new form of expression, they began to change their approach to body modding. They were getting smarter, evolving. The movement grew out of its infancy into an adolescent stage. It still held its risks, but operations and home hacks were becoming more creative and more successful.

As it grew it changed, smaller sub-cultures grew out of it. Snoopers devised ways to hide their tags, to clone them. They pioneered ways to become invisible, ghosts in the systems. They used basic mods to create systems to hack into cameras, files, and other tags to alter, to observe. They started as cheaters in school, making hacks to pass tests, but grew into a passive mass of techno-perverts.

The shock value crowd, The Aberrations, modded their bodies to gain attention. Often mixed with simple tattoos, they tried to alter their appearance. From small lights and tiny screens to luminescent eyes and kerosine pouches to allow them to breath fire. Their mods were less practical and focused more on the spectacle.

Finally there was the truly gifted. The group that stayed true to the founding ideals, to advance and evolve humanity. They believed technology was human evolution, and found ways to mod around there tags. They hacked there brains, turning into organic computers. Wires ran under their skin like veins feeding into ports and input plugs. They hid tiny screens in their eye lids, tiny cameras behind their eyes. With their lust for evolution came a price tho, their bodies held scars from the many self hacks, they had tiny power sources inside their bodies that fed off corrupting electricity. They ran a great risk of frying their brain, of bringing their body to far over the edge. They were The Elite, clandestine individuals living among main stream society, blending seamlessly yet undermining the authority.

They were all criminals, hunted by the cops, forced to hide from the prying eyes. The pioneers of their time.

Are you a Freak, a Snooper, or an Elite? Remember to try and rationalize your body hacks. You can not be super strong, super silent, have knifes shoot from your hands. Each hack ads equipment to your body, wiring, and it does not make you bionic or a super soldier. It simply makes you a human computer. Your surgeries are under way, is it a self hack or are you being helped by "professional".

Good luck with the surgeries friends.

The doctor cursed as he stumbled up the hill, away from the dirt path he had been following. Why did he always get the crazy ones? The ones who wanted to meet in the middle of the forest, at the dead of night? He isn't paying me enough for this, the doctor thought as he pulled a crumpled note out of his pocket, double checking the directions given. Follow main path through Heartwood forest until you reach large black boulder. Go up hill. I'll meet you there. After reaching the top, the doctor looked around, and sighed. The patient was always late. He opened his briefcase, and double checked the sharpness of his scalpel. The doctor always double checked.

WHO DARES INTRUDE UPON MY HOME!? a loud, demonic voice roared from behind him. The doctor supressed a groan. He didn't like this patient. "It's me, Chris." The doctor called, without looking up. Doctor? You're early. There was a brief pause, then a young man stepped out of the shadows. He was wearing a black cloak, and he was barefoot. His skin was pale, his hair was jet black and messy, and his smile could make a child cry. He eyed the doctor's briefcase hungrily. You've got the mods? The doctor winced. "You know, you could turn off your voice mod. It's rather unpleasant to listen to." The doctor said. Chris grinned. That's the point, doctor. He motioned down the hill, where a white medical tent was set up. The doctor followed Chris down the hill.

Inside the tent, there was a small bed, and a few basic surgical tools. Chris took a seat on the bed. The doctor opened his briefcase. He looked at the tools already in the tent with distaste. "I hope you don't mind if I use my own," he said, pulling on a pair of rubber gloves. Not at all. Whatever cracks your code. Chris said, relaxing on the bed. The doctor picked up a needle filled with a clear liquid. "I suppose you'll want an anesthetic?" The doctor said flatly. I suppose I will, Chris replied in the same tone. The doctor approached Chris and smoothly injected him, stepping back as the patient slumped forwards, unconscious.

The doctor began to operate.

A girl was walking down an ally. Her name was Caroline Smith, and she had almost straight A's in school, had never hacked (for all her parents know at least), and has an exception to Harvard in the mail. She never knew many people at her school, only a few people here and there, barley making up ten people all together. A "dealer" was waiting in an ally with a dirty medical bench in the car behind him. He approached Caroline and said "Hey, girly, wanna try a mod? I can give you anything you want. Just twenty..." "Fuck you." Caroline said while walking by. "Come on, it'll be fun..." The dealer approached her again "I said fuck you." Caroline turned out of the ally and headed down the street.

"I hope mom doesn't care much that I'm going to the mall with friends. I remember last time she gave me a lecture for two hours about how I could have died." She approached the mall, which was crowded by this time. Odd, it's about ten in the morning. I mean, it's summer and all, but I didn't expect this many people. Must be some start of the summer sale. She tried to approach the front door, but it was blocked by a throng of people.

"...and I was like, 'you are not wearing that to my party' and she was all..." That must be Tabatha. I could have guessed that she would be here. God, I hate that stupid mod of hers that let's her see my damn thoughts. I swear, I think it has to do with the electric one I have, or at least something with brainwaves. What is it my teacher called it? "Bodily Electrical Signals"? I don't know. I never should have got that mod though, now I'm stuck with my hand lighting things on fire every time I get a little to emotional about anything. I can't even hug Beth if I wanted to. Where is Beth anyway? I was hoping that I could, I don't know, ask her out or... why am I thinking about that? I'm not gay, so why would I be attracted to one girl out of the whole city? I don't know, maybe it's just a "phase" as my parents would call it.

Caroline tried to get closer to the group. She could see Tabatha, a huge mod addict. "And so I told her... Ho, hey Caroline, didn't see you there." She looked Caroline over. "You're wondering where Beth is, aren't you? I'm okay with you being a dyke, just don't try and hit on every girl you see, okay." Tabatha said with her arms crossed. Caroline thought for a second.

Look, you know that I know you have that mind reading mod, and don't pretend you don't, and you also know I could kill you right now with the one mod I have. Hell, I could kill this whole crowd if I get to angry, so don't piss me off, and I'm not a "dyke", I am just... interested. Okay? "That 'll shut you up." she said. The other girl burst into laughter. "God, I was just joking. Look, Beth's working at that new boutique in the mall, and I was fealing sorry for you being alone so I invited you along with us to go see her. Now, if we're done being all pissed, can we get inside and go see your girlfriend?" I told you I could kill you, right? Carolines hands started to spark lightly with electricity.

Calm down, one two, one two. I'm okay. "Um, sorry, I just... Please don't make fun of me. I don't understand it either, okay? I still need some things answered myself." Caroline said after her hands stopped sparking. "Now, let's go." Tabatha said "But there's a huge crowd, we'll be lucky to make it there by one." Caroline replied. Tabatha looked one of her friends. "We where just waiting for you. Andria managed to replicate a key of one of the nightwatchmen she's been playing around with..." "Hey, that's not nice! We only dated for a month, and I never did anything!" Andria replied angrily. Ho god, just tell me I can go in soon. Um, no offense, Tabatha. Tabatha looked at her. "None taken. Now, let's get to the door."

Caroline checked her wrist. The small bars that acted as a battery indicator where at three left. Damn, got to recharge soon. Maybe I could sneak some power from a vending machine while I'm here. She thought as she worked her way through the crowd.

The group made it's way to a loading door. Tabatha turned to Caroline and said "Here we go, right through here and to the left. The place opens in ten minutes, so you better hurry if you want to catch up with your girlfr... I mean regular friend." And you can go back to you regular ***** friends if you can't stop making fun of me. Or I could kill you here and no one would notice. Either way, you'd stop. Tabatha's face changed from it's normal look to that of a dear in headlights. "Right, huh, see you later." The three girls headed off into the mall, leaving Caroline alone.

"Now, where to the Boutique De France? Not over here... Maybe it's over..." She was interrupted by Beth's voice. "It's right over here. And what are you doing here before opening? The mall doesn't open for another five minutes." Beth approached her and backed Caroline against the map. "I um, came to, um, talk to you. Yeah, I um, wanted to ask you to dinner or... please don't make fun of me. I, um, just, I huh, didn't know what you'd think. I mean, us being friends so long. I didn't know if you would think I was weird or..." Beth looked at her. "Oh, that's so sweet. The little dyke..." "Don't call me a dyke. I hate that word." Caroline interrupted "Okay. The little lesbian wants to ask her best friend out. I'll meet you after work at the Italian place downtown. Pasta and Amore I think it's called." She kissed Caroline on the cheek. Caroline let out a squeak and her hands started to spark. "I um, have to go now, before um, you know, my hands." Beth looked at her. "Okay, just be here by six. And you might want to practice on not blazing up when I kiss you. I plan to do that a lot when we're on our date." Caroline Froze up as she attempted to leave. "I um, I guess I will. I mean, if you want me to. I know some people find that, um, attractive..." Beth had a slightly annoyed look on her face "Just don't burn my hand if I hold yours."

Eight hours later(the actual operation): La la la la la, I'm going on a date with Beth. Damn it, why do I always get so worked up about her? I mean, I never felt this way about her before, it's just now that this stupid arm of mine is messing up that I feel this way about her. Maybe I should think this through before I do this. Yeah, that would be... "Police line, go back please." a tall man with a deep voice said. Caroline looked up. There was a policeman there, wearing full combat gear, probably S.W.A.T. "Why? What happened? Was there a robbery? Is everyone okay?" She caught her breath. "Yes and no. It's just that a women was shot during a robbery. She'll be okay, but I doubt she can walk again without hel..." "What was her name?" Caroline asked. "Ho, um, Beth Jones. Why, did you know her?"

Caroline walked off, starting to cry under her hair. "Wait, girl, we need you help..." "Shove off!" She said while crossing the line. "Wait you can't..." She Pulsed her hand, this time shooting sparks to all of the electrical appliances in a hundred yard radius. The sleeves of her Jacket kicked up from the wind and revealed the wiring running down her arm. The normally red and copper colored wires where a deep blues and greens from the current passing through them, the large battery she used as a power source was venting steam through the cuts she used as a "release valve" on her back, and the metal rods she tied to her gloves where almost burning through the leather. "Leave me alone! I have to the power to kill everyone here, and I won't loose any sleep if Beth Jones is the only one to survive! So either leave me alone or get one of your paramedics to do their jobs and save my girlfriend! Or will you let her die because I have a mod? Now, how long ago was this?" She had a deep second voice when she talked because of the electricity almost burning her vocal cords.(Note: She is only this powerful because of the acute stress to her emotions, which control the mod. Normally she will be quite week and barley able to use the mod without hurting herself.)

The policeman drew his gun, which was quickly hit by a bolt of lightning. "Ei... Eight hours ago, a few minutes before opening. She's already back at a hospital. She says the injury happened when three girls claiming to know her and her friend, 'Caroline Smith', starting taking money from the cash register. She tried to stop them, but one of them pulled a gun and shot her. They fled the seen soon after and where not found. And say, what's you name?" Caroline's hands ran out of electricity as her battery ran dead "Caroline Smith, and don't bather me, I need to do something." "But, wait, we need you to help with some questions." The policeman said as Caroline walked away. "I told you everything. I snuck into he mall with three girls, they'd never hurt a fly, by the way, and now my girlfriend is in the hospital. I can't tell you any more as I don't know any more." And with that Caroline left for around the corner and into an ally.

She reached the ally that she passed on the way there. "Hm, seams the little girls come back. What you want? Intelligence package for strait A's? Mind reading for the latest gossip?" The man asked "I need a tracker, and quick." The man looked at her. "Oh, what, you puppy get lost?" "No, some girls I know shot my girlfriend. Now can we hurry up?" Caroline replied while laying down on the dirty surgical table

"Alright, just think of something calming to you. Anything, I can't see. Hell, I only have an intelligence mod." Caroline sat back in the chair. Hm, I always liked the ocean. But I hate being alone. Maybe, I can just imagine Beth and me at the ocean, just Beth and me. And We can be in a little cove along the shore, just the two of us, where no one can see me and her, and we can do anything. Just me and Beth.

Half the reason for the operation is to get a feel for your writing style, while the other half is to get a feel for the mods and what they do. FYI

I plan to write an intro to this, but I can't do it until tonight. Expect one from me in about 5 - 6 hours, this RP looks great.

Try to keep your mods realistic. Their should not be a mind reading mod. For all other mods their should be an explination. A voice mod would need a chip and a speaker, an electric mod would be hard to control and would need an internal battery not to mention a few diodes or release points. . .

Mods also cause scars on the bodies so if you have a huge mod like being able to caste lightning i need an explanation as how your character hides it. Either in sleeves or with super inattentive parents.

The point of the RP is to imagine body mods in real life and to react accordingly.

Sorry for being so picky.

A voice called out from all internal mods, flashed across the screens implanted in their eye lids, shot through the static buzz of internal radios and coms devices. As it played privately in thousands of counter culture kids like the voice of god, it was broad cast over the open air waves, through T.V.'s and cellular devices. They were finally going to have a voice.

"They call us mad." The broad cast declared with a proselytizing voice, "They gave up on the idea of evolution, of progress. They look at us like rejects, rebels, criminals. So i ask you this, when did it become about the message and not about the art. Was it about the time that people started accepting Soup cans and randomly flung paint as art?"

The cops started to scramble, officials began to toss around papers and call on secretaries. Something had to be done, cut off this broad cast! " Yet here we stand again, you looking upon the art that we have created. No longer canvas or sculpture, but living breathing art. Infusing ourselves with technology, becoming human advancement. Right now you are all modded. Chips tell your doctors what the problem is, inform the police who you are, unlock your house and activate your car. You are all members of a sci-fi world come to life, yet you persecute those who stand up and advance the human race. No more, we can not sit idly by and watch as Mods and so called 'Body Hackers' are imprisoned and stripped of their rights to privacy! How is it humane that a cop has the right to tear out our beautiful creations. An Aberration Mod was arrested in Chicago last week. When they had him detained they removed all his mods, stripped his body of his EKG screen, the lEDs and luminescent eye mods."

Who is this kid, a thousand voices cried as others silently cheered. "Just another Mod-head cleaned out right? Wrong. His body went into shock and he died on the mid-evil torture device that Chicago's finest called an operating table. No more shall we sit idly by, no longer will we let the scared populace chase us down like some Marxist Witches. You have heard our call. My voice is but the spokesman for a thousand mods living in your city. The "War on Mods" is a joke. If its a war you want its a war you shall get. This is a call to arms my friends, and a warning. We can find you before you can ever find us. Caster out."

The coms went dead, they emitted nothing but a static cough as all the lights in the city died out. Five minutes of chaos ensued as the cops sirens pulsed blue and red into the night. As soon as it began it was over. The lights kicked over and every one wanted to know. Who was Caster.

The application process is still going on, i just wanted to get the "call to arms" done so that people would be able to get an understanding for the plot or atleast the major conflict. This is also a warning that you shouldn't go flaunting your mods. They are watching ^_^

"So am I putting you under this time?"

"No, we've been through this. Just the local. I'm not leaving you alone with my body and a scalpel, not since you fucked up my ear."

Beck was what they called an Elite. His body was covered in scars, some razor thin and easy to hide, but others thick and rope like. His chest and back more resembled a cadaver after an autopsy than a living person.

"It was one mistake, how many other times have I done a good job? Don't forget about the electrodes, that was a hell of a stretch. You should be happy you were out for that ridiculous 8 hour marathon."

"It was worth it." Beck replied, pulling his shirt off to reveal a body heavy with artificial muscle. The electrodes were attached to major muscles all over his body, delivering short bursts of electricity via thread-thin wires. After each surgery, he switched to high-protein foods for a week with the electrodes going constantly. His muscle knitted and thickened several times faster than normal, allowing more frequent hacks. But they drained him of energy, making him lethargic and sapping power from his other hacks.

"I'll bet, I need to stay on your case more. I do at least three times as much work on you as you do on me." The other person was Matt, a reconstructive surgeon by training, but his real passion was hacks. He had known Beck since high school, when they first made up plans to hack their chips.

"You're the doctor, I'm the real scientist." Beck said jokingly. "I'm the one who makes the damn things and writes the code so they work."

"Fair enough. So you say this thing is going in your back, now?"

"Yeah, it's a battery and capacitor." Beck said, indicating the two flat half-circle shaped devices next them. They appeared to be quite flexible, and were only a quarter of an inch thick. "If you can attach them to my ribs, then wire a charging plug onto my forearm I can store way more power."

"Alright, sounds like a plan. Lay down."

Beck finished stripping, then layed down on his stomach on the stainless steel table. Matt took a pair of syringes and filled them with anesthetic. He injected one into Beck's back in three places along the length of his spine, then injected the other into his left arm. Meanwhile, Beck closed his eyes and probed the room wirelessly with practiced ease. He was quickly able to connect to the camera on the ceiling, directly above him. On the inside of his eyelids, he watched Matt finish the injections then prepare his instruments as the flesh started to numb.

"Will you get the sheet?" Beck asked, not wanting to have to see his bare body for the whole length of the procedure. "I have to ask you that every time."

"Maybe it's because I like your ass." Matt replied with a chuckle, standing up and putting an already bloodstained sheet over Beck's lower body.

"You're not making a good case for letting you put me under."
Wow, that turned out a lot better than I had hoped. I like this RP already.

For the record, I will be controlling Beck as my main character if I get chosen for this RP. Also, I purposely set this before the broadcast, so I'm not ignoring you or anything RD.

"Well, doc, what mods do you have for me today?"

"Umm, lets see, ohh, we have a brand new one, very experimental, we open up the back of each of your ears, and implnat chips in them, allowing you to hear very low volume sounds, and because it's in your ear, it will be very hard to notice."

"well, I'm very fond of hidden mods, like the IR and night vison mods you put in my eyes, they are working great, saves me a shitload on my eletric bill."

"Well this mod will save you alot on the not getting snuk up on and killed bill."

"I bet it willk, now put me under."

"Okay, that'll be 10000$"

"WOW!, thats a shit load, but I guess you need to pay alot for hidden mods that WORK, this will work, Right?"

"If you pay for it, it shall get done."

"Here you go then." Robert hands the doctor 10000$.

TWO HOURS LATER

"wOOOOOOOO, that was a nice nap, how'd it go doc."

"Percectly, except..."

"Except what?!"

"Just a few wires going down each side of your neck, if you grow your hair a little you'll barely notice."

"I would kill you right now, but if you say its not that bad, I guess i'll let it Slide, hell I live alone, its not like I have someone staring at me 24/7."

"I'm sorry Rob, it's just that it needed each chip to connect, it could have fried youe brain if I ran it across your skull."

"Its fine james, just tell me before hand, and think about your operation before you star cutting, see ya james."

"Bye Rob, see you around"

Robert walked home, pissed off

EDIT< LOOK! mod explation, You work the NV/IR eye mods by pressing your temple, the ear mod works by pressing a small button behind your ear.

Sid laid in the old recliner. It was leather, sort of like those old barbers chairs. It was a pure antique, too. Upholstery coming apart, duct tape trying to hold it together, the works. It felt smooth, real nice to the skin. The day was a bit hot, however, making the leather stick to his legs a little. But, overall, he was comfortable. A doctor entered from the back room, holding a tray. On it lay several surgical implements, along with an odd doo-dad or thingamajig.

"So, Mr. Taylor, what will it be this time?"

"Just a simple electrical mod. Shock fingers, to be precise."

With that, the doctor nodded his head, and placed an anaesthesia mask over Sid's face. As Sid slowly slipped into unconsciousness, the doctor began to prep the mod for installation, and began the surgery.

The way the 'Shock Fingers' mod works is by installing a small capacitor somewhere in the body, usually somewhere relatively open, and running wires along the nerves leading to the hands. This allows the user to give an electrical shock, comparable to drive stun taser, just by touching them, with the drawback that it causes the user some pain, due to the nerve endings' use as the delivery system. If there is anything wrong with that, just tell me.

You know, only one or two more people and we could start, or we could start now and say "Started but still accepting" in the title. Either, way, it won't be long.

I want to see where you guys take your mods/intro stories a little more before i start. that gives people time to join, and allows me to get a better feel for your style. Or kill you off in a creative way. . .

Sporky and Code Monkey are both in already. I just need to get a better feel for sentinel, Captain Rob, you, and who ever else wishes to join

The doctor walked into the room. "I tried to run your I.D. from your chip but one didn't appear." The doctor stated.

Dante sat on the table. "You know that we don't use names. You only need the medical information on it."

The doctor grunted. "Fine but I need a list of active mods and how they have been functioning as your files didn't contain that." The doctor replied pissed that he was doing mods for these unknowns.

Dante took in a deep breath and replied, "One LCD screen over my left eye; functions with no problems.

One upgraded phone chip to avoid the problems created by the prototypes; functions with minimal static and connection loss.

One chip censor; function perfectly.

Ten air keyboard mods, one per finger; functions perfectly.

One mod blocker; functions perfectly.

Four flexible batteries that act as a power source with electrical jack mod located on my right calf."

The doctor looked shocked. He could barely see most of the mods. "What is each ones function. I need to make sure that you wouldn't create a major problem with this newest mod."

Dante sighed. This guy asks to many questions. But he always did the same thing. He can't due anything with the answers anyways after what I got on him. "Alright, but you are pushing the limits on the questions. The LCD screen acts as the monitor for when I hack on the go. It makes it easier to stay hidden while I'm making stealth hacks.

I use the phone to make untraceable phone calls to the people who hire me or to yourself when I need an upgrade.

The chip censor produces a one meter field that I can read, copy, and download any chip onto my own to act as a mask.

The air keyboard mods allow me to type and navigate through systems without the use of a keyboard or mouse.

The mod blocker prevents foreign systems from entering into my personal system. That includes scans on my chip and anyone trying to get access to my mind.

The electrical jack allows me to recharge while I stand near an electrical socket and I can use it to get into a system through it's electrical source to by pass the security measures but only on the location's site."

"I'm going to put you under now. That updated circuitry for the mod blocker will be wrapped around your internal organs so you can't be electrocuted from shock contact mods anymore. This one is risky even for a professional like me." The doctor said.

Dante felt the general anesthetic take over and started to dream. Dante dreamed of the times when he had the tattoos placed on his body in order to hide the scars from the mod surgeries. Then he dreamed of his life before mods when he was a preteen that did freelance hacks for companies and governments. Then Dante dreamed of the day that the governments betrayed him. He had gotten the mods to improve his capabilities for hacking like they requested then declared him a freak and a monster. They ignored the fact that they had approved and payed for the mods of so many people and then cast them off when public opinion changed. Then Dante dreamed of his revenge that has yet to come.

"Okay, it should be all right. Just don't strain yourself for a few days." The man said as he helped Caroline to the ground. "I'll be fine, now how do I use this." she said as she stepped out of the seat. The dealer studied her for a second. "I thought you would have known. You just put in the name of the person you want to find here," He pointed to a spot on Carolines arm, which he had installed what looked like a small keyboard onto. "and the mod does the rest. You'll get distance, direction, even if there are any other signals from other peoples chips in a ten foot radius." The dealer told her. Caroline looked at him.

"and how much will it set me back?" She asked. "Well, normal price is one hundred a part, so six parts is six hundred. But, I could give you a discount if you do some work for me." The dealer replied. Caroline thought for a moment. Well, either I do work for a mod dealer and make those bitches pay, or I pay three hundred dollars I don't have to a mod dealer in a shady back alley. I got it. "I'll pay you in one hour. If I'm not back my then, my name is Tabatha Ames, I'm sure you can think of something creative."

There, that'll teach them. Now, I need to find where they took Beth. She pulled up her sleeve and typed in the name "Beth Jones" into the keyboard. A display in in the upper right corner of her eye said that she was roughly one mile from a Beth Jones, but there wasn't a hospital for at least three miles. "Well, I gotta go. See you in one hour." Caroline walked back into the street.

Carolines phone started to ring "Hello?" She said when she answered it. "They call us mad." Caroline waited a minute before saying "what? Who is..." "They gave up on the idea of evolution, of progress. They look at us like rejects, rebels, criminals. So I ask you this, when did it become about the message and not about the art. Was it about the time that people started accepting Soup cans and randomly flung paint as art?" Caroline started to hear the broadcast from other parts of the city. "I'm calling Beth." She said as she tried to back out, but it was to no avail.

Just another Mod-head cleaned out right? Caster out." The broadcast ended and her phone returned to normal. "The fuck was that?" Caroline said before several police officers came to the street. "Freeze! Police!" One of them yelled.

No, no, no, no, no, this isn't happening. This is not happening. Caroline thought as one of the policemen brought her to her knees. "This isn't happening. This isn't happening." She kept repeating to herself. How could this be happening? I... I didn't even want these damn mods. I just wanted to belong. I'm scared. Wait, I'm scared? Ho fuck! Caroline came back to reality to realize that the three police officers that where surrounding her where dead, their hearts stopped when nearly a hundred thousand volts passes through each of them. "Ho my god. I... I killed them. I can't believe it." Caroline stood up. "And I don't feel anything. Not fear, not guilt, nothing. They died because of me and my mod, yet I couldn't care less."

Caroline checked the area around her. There seamed to be a large scorch mark around where she was sitting, and the police officers had scorch marks around their bodies. "Ho my god, I need to go." Caroline ran to as fast as she could to the nearest hospital. The receptionist at the desk looked at her. "Hello, welcome to St. Luke hospital how can I..." "My girlfriend was shot a while ago. Is there a girl, about eighteen, in here? She was brought here by the ambulance after she got shot, and her names Beth Jones." The receptionist checked some files. "Don't worry, I'm sure your friend is fine, just let me see where she is. Here you go, room 2003, twentieth floor, third room to the right." Caroline caught her breath. "Thank you." She ran to the nearest elevator and hit the button for the twentieth floor.

Once the elevator arrived Caroline darted for the third room. There where several camera men standing outside. God, you can't leave her alone after she got shot? I hate news like this. She lifted her hand to one of the cameras. I still have some control. A small bolt, just enough to jump from camera to camera and shut each one off, jumped from the rods on her gloves. The crowd started to talk and soon moved on to another room. Caroline walked in the room and said "I ever tell you I hate it when they interview someone after they just got hurt?" Beth smiled at her.

Damn, she even makes a hospital gown look good. I could only imagine what it would feel like to slowly slip that off of her, her being apprehensive at first but soon enjoying it... am I thinking about sexing up my best friend? God, I really need to get my head out of the gutter. Caroline thought as she took a seat next to Beths bed. "Hey, how you holding up?" Caroline asked. "Pretty good after they put that anesthetic in me. it's still a little hard to talk, but I can manage." Beth responded. Caroline hugged Beth, her hand giving light sparks before draining the last of the battery and stopping.

"I guess I won't be getting that date anytime soon then?" Caroline asked jokingly. Beth laughed "No, I guess not. But I was wondering if you could stay here? You know, to keep me company and all that." Caroline let out a sigh. "Fine, I guess I can stay with my best friend who I was about to ask if I could stay with." They both laughed. "Okay, just don't put the moves on me or anything. They don't exactly approve of going at it here anyway." Beth said, chuckling after the last sentence. Caroline had an annoyed look on her face. "I told you I don't like you making fun of me about that. I especially don't like you making fun of me." She said as she lowered her head to look at the ground. Beth stopped smiling and sat as up as possible in her current state.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you cared that much. Look." Caroline lifted her head to look at Beth, who kissed her. not on the cheek or anything, just right out and kissed her. Carolines hands seemed to get electricity from nowhere and produced sparks of blue and green. "Wh...why did you do that?" Caroline said as she inched away from Beth. Beth smiled at her again "I thought that it would kind of make it up to you. I guess not then. Ho well, I was just trying to be nice..." "I, um, no, it was nice I just, huh, wasn't expecting you to... you're strait, and not exactly the kind of person that does that either, so I wasn't really expecting it." Caroline interrupted.

"Well, get some sleep, the couch over there unfolds into a bed. See you in the morning." Beth said while turning over. Yeah, it'll be easy for you to get to sleep. I just killed three cops out of fear, and even then I don't know how. Maybe this is all just a bad dream and I'll wake up in the morning back in my bed with my mom yelling at me to get ready for college. Maybe this day never happened. Yeah, maybe I just fell asleep watching some movie and now it's in my head. What am I saying. I killed them and felt no remorse, why should I care about them anyway. I just would have died like the other modders. I... "Ms. Jones, open up, the police need to talk to you." A doctor said while banging on the door.

"Just a second." Caroline replied in her best impersonation of Beth she could do. "Beth, wake up. We need to go. The police are here and, well, you know, with my hand and that message earlier I'm dead if they catch me." she said while shaking Beth awake. "Okay, just let me get dressed." Beth replied. "It's okay, I have cloths at my place you can use, and besides, you look good in the gown." Caroline said jokingly. "Okay, I would have thought you would have liked to see me change." Beth said. "Hey you two, we really need to talk to you. We're looking for Caroline Smith." The doctor said, a hint of annoyance in his voice.

Shit, so they knew it was me. Maybe I can find someone who could help us. Caroline put in the name "Kevin Markson" into the keyboard. Two miles. No eighty. Wait. Shit, the blast must have messed it up. Well only one thing to do I guess. Caroline thought before walking out of the room. "God, took you long enough... wait, you're not Jones. Who are you?" The doctor said. "Caroline Smith." She responded. "I can't hurt you. I'm not afraid. I know what you'll do to me." Caroline said said. And I'm out of juice anyway. "Wow, you're really just gonna give up that easy, even after you killed three S.W.A.T. officers? Suites me." The doctor said as he lead Caroline to the elevator.

Caroline and the doctor got into the elevator "You made one mistake, doctor: I can just get electricity from anything, even this elevator." She said as she reached her hand to the wall. "You would not believe how much power goes through this thing. In fact, I think I'm full. And you know what, I'm going to be just happy to meet the police now. I'll be as happy as can be." Caroline smiled as the elevator reached the first floor. There where several S.W.A.T. officers waiting for her as soon as she got out. "Freeze! On your knees!" One of them shouted. "Wow, you brought everyone, just for little old me? Why, that makes me so... happy." Carolines hands lit up in bright colors, this time of red and purple.

They aimed at her and opened fire. Most of the bullets either missed or where stopped by a strong electric field. "You really brought everyone, didn't you?" Caroline said while walking out of the elevator. There where several clicks, and many of the policemen changed magazines. "Now stop it, it's getting annoying. I might get mad if you keep it up." Several more of the officers fired. "You don't get it, this is me being happy. It's sending strong signals from my brain to my body. Now, if you want to die, then make me mad." Shit, almost out of juice, but I'm damn sure they're almost out of bullets.

"Fine then, see you all in hell." Caroline said before lifting her hand. "You'll probably kill Beth if I survive this, so why should I worry about myself?" A large, tendril like burst of electricity shot from her arm and into the lobby of the hospital. "There, now will you let me live? Of course not." Caroline said before checking her wrist. shit, O have maybe ten more seconds of the shield. Maybe I can run. Caroline looked out the door. Several more officers where waiting outside. Dine then, I die here. Caroline thought before grabbing hold of a vending machine.

The lights flickered in the hospital as power was drained into Carolines body. "I have the whole city as my ammo, you only have a few bullets left anyway, so just let me leave!" Caroline said before sending another tendril at the remaining officers. The firing stopped, and Caroline looked around her. I may never sleep again, if I felt any guilt for this that is. Why can I kill but feel no pain for it? Why? Am I just a natural born... I... feel... weak Caroline collapsed to the ground, unconscious and possibly in a coma after she took almost all of the power from the building. "Someone call the police or something, we need to move her [small]another hospital before she dies! Can you hear me! Wake up![/small]"

The doctor pulled off his gloves and dropped them into a plastic garbage bag. He looked over the unconscious patient with disgust. I could have done so much better. I got through medical school, and damn it, I'm good, but I screw up once and I'm stuck working for mod-heads like this guy. He sighed. The doctor double checked his account to be sure he'd been paid, then left.

Chris woke up to see the sunlight trailing through the open door of the medical tent. He groaned, and sat up. As expected, the doctor was gone. He'd had three operations like this, and all three times the operator had left before the anaesthetic wore off. Chris winked his left eye, activating a digital clock on the front of his cornea. Christ! It's already eight! How much dope did that guy give me? He reached dover the side of the bed and found his pants. He pulled out his phone, and dialled his office.

"Chris? Where the hell are you? You have that meeting about the Anderson file in five minutes!" Good to see you too, Mr. Sharp. I'm sorry sir, I- He stopped, startled by his own voice. Then he remembered, and smacked his forehead. He reached into his mouth, found the switch under his tongue, and flipped it. "Sorry, sir." He said in a normal, if slightly scratchy voice. "I had something in my throat." Mr. Sharp was unimpressed. "Hrmph. Sounded like you had a damn demon in you or something. Is that why you're not here? You're calling in possessed?" Chris climbed out of bed and pulled on his pants. "No, sir. I'm afraid I won't be able to come in today. I think I've caught a virus." There was no response. "Mr. Sharp? Hello?" Chris checked the battery on his phone. It was fine. Chris looked puzzled. He was about to hang up, when he heard something.

"They call us mad," Said a voice Chris didn't recognize. "They gave up on the idea of evolution, of progress." Chris listened intently. It was obvious this guy was talking about mods, but he made them sound beautiful, profound. He touched the small scar on his throat, the only sign of last night.
Eventually it ended, and Mr. Sharp came back on. "Christopher," he said calmly. "Did you hear that too?"
"Yes sir."
"Ah. Well, you should probably not bother coming in to work today. See you on Monday." Chris heard the steady hum of a dial tone, and he put his phone down.

The war had officially started the announcement brought a wave of clandestine Mods to pop out of the wood works and start in on major hacks. They saw them as warnings but the police saw them as a new cyber-terrorism. The riot squads were massed, their tags keyed up with their guns as they slipped into their Spec-Force armor and hid behind their T.A. Riot Shields.

For regular criminals the riot squads would strike fear, each man was a tank, their armor made from a non-newtonian metal that solidified when force was applied while their shields were made from a quarter in of Transparent Alumina, a glass stronger than steel. The extra palm tag each cop had allowed them to key into their weapons, they would be the only ones that could fire them, each round would be tagged to them. The ultimate form of gun control. Yet they were not impervious, they were crippled by their reliance of ballistics, on modern weapons. They mobilized against on army of hackers, of cyber-criminals who had the ability to enter any system and wreak havoc. They were tasked to handle the Mods, but their true job would be to control the citizens when the inevitable riots started.

Mods and Normal citizens mixed together as the streets filled with sirens, the city was over flowing with violence and tension, and Caster couldn't help but laugh. He sent out probes into the crowds, Snoopers, Elites mixed seamlessly with the crowds with the expressed order to stir chaos, Aberrations skirted about the shadows to occupy the the cops and draw the mobs down town. He was taking a gamble that would free these streets from the cops, he would be able to gather his Mod army while his scouts incited chaos and civil unrest.

He wouldn't go out to meet his new recruits, no it was too risky to let them in yet. But he knew who he would send out, his Right and Left hands would meet his cyber-commandos when the time came right.

*Kzzt*Specter*Kzzt* His thoughts no longer sounded alien to him as they erupted from the speakers. Their was a time when he had trouble controlling internal and external dialogue with his new mod, a time when the entire complex would echo with his inner most thoughts. Not any more, he had gained control and now the P.A. only projected what he wanted it too. *kzzt*Specter. We are going to be having guests soon. Take the animal to collect them at the door when they arrive. *Kzzt*

He hadn't even opened his eyes, he was still plugged into the "core" the chair that allowed him to mix freely with his network of hackers, its what allowed him to send out such a large broad cast. Each hacker hooked into the main frame focused on a separate way to deliver the message. They projected in all know wave lengths, the twenty snoopers, mere peons yet still so skilled in their craft. He pulled the plug out from the port that hooked into his brainstem and felt the sudden warmth of his consciousness leaving the system and returning full to his body.

"Soon. Soon this city is going to be turned on its head. And all i have to do is collect the pieces that will allow me to do it." He let his hand skim over the fur of his faithful Bull Mastiff, the light in the room played off the wires still stuck into his forearm.

I am still making the final little choices with the help of Spork, so i will be sending your characters directions to the Casa De Los Caster and we will be able to finally start the fun.

Mads was a normal person; he was like everybody else, but he felt that he was somehow different from the world. He was of natural birth and had already possessed a body which could withstand above average pain tolerance and was blessed with a highly valued mental capacity. Mads skated through medical school and eventually law school (during his time in school, Mads was offered various governmental jobs because of how much he had excelled above the rest of his class. In turn, Mads had created relationships with government officials that were as strong as a blood ties), he then started his own law firm at the time the turmoil was arising from new mods. Because of these mods, Mads was rapidly losing people at his firm. Through time Mads' firm shut down completely. Relying on the funds he had saved as an attorney, Mads lived a quiet life away from society and the stipulations society carried with it. He dwelt in the depths of solitude whilst his family and his friends constantly died in the outside world; almost everyone he had ever come to know was being massacred in riots or killed through deals gone wry. Mads then felt it was time to adapt to what the world had become.

Carefully and concisely covering up everywhere he had gone, Mads made arrangements for the first alteration he would endure. He was reluctant to find a doctor willing to operate at such a short notice and with such risky conditions. Mads was removing the hair he had and replacing it with carbon nanotubes which would change in hue based on his blood pressure and pulse. In addition to his uncanny procedure, Mads would get titanium caps placed around vital joint areas for prolonged activity and endurance in the joints.

It was a cold Tuesday morning and three days before Christmas, Mads' surgery was about to begin. M.D. Jacobs had set up everything to begin the procedure. The first part was the most painful as Mads was explained, afterwards he would undergo anesthetics which would last as long as the operation required. Mads stepped into the chilly prep room. He noticed a tub with boiling liquid inside of it. There was a green tinge to the substance and Mads knew it was the acid bath required for the destruction of his scalp. Calmly and collected Mads walked over to the tub with Jacobs. Jacobs had begun explaining parts of the procedure but Mads blocked him out whilst focusing on the seething liquid. Moments later Mads began to dip the cap of his skull into the putrid acid. The pain was like nothing he had felt in his life. The unparalleled agony burned his entire being though it only touched his scalp. His soul felt locked in an eternal torment which was inescapable. Jacobs then pulled Mads out of the bath. With an extremely fine toothed comb the surgeon began to pull out Mads' hair. His head still wrought with pain, Mads longed for the anesthesia. Jacobs finished then his colleague Marc Saito entered the room to aid Mads to a gurney. Once on the metal transport, Mads was injected with Bupivacaine and Levobupivacaine, and the surgery commenced as planned.

The next evening Mads awoke in his bed. Jacobs and Saito were sitting next to his bed waiting for Mads to come to his senses. Mads was now awake, burdened with the detoxification of large doses of Morphine Sulfate. He was now prepared to listen to everything the doctor could tell him.

"So ...what...how did the surgery go?" quietly asked Mads.

Jacobs replied, "Everything was perfect, though you don't look too much different if that was your goal. And boy did I have a tough time integrating the circuitry into your body. But in the end, everything is fine."

"Thank you Father, if you need any money, everything is in that briefcase for you."

"There is no need for that Mads. But I do want to tell you about the integrations I provided you with. I ran wire throughout your entire body so that you may interface in the future and continue to upgrade your body if that is your desire. You have access points in your forearms and on your right shoulder, more can be added if needed," Jacobs cleared his throat, "While you were in surgery, Jason Maricov from the government came by. He wants you to contact him as soon as possible."

"Thanks...Dad."

(Adding a bit more, but need to sleep X_x)

Mads loyal as always, picked up the phone as dialed Jason's number. His hands trembled at every button press. He wondered why Jason had wanted to speak to him after all these years. Jason was the man who had tried to get Mads to join every upcoming governmental act towards modders. This time was undoubtedly no different.

-"Hello?"
"What do you want Jason"
-"Oh...hey Mads, I saw you not too long ago. You look good!"
"I said what do you want?!"
-"Calm down Mads, ok...how about we meet in person, phones are too risky now a days."
"No..."
-"No? Then I guess I'm going to have to place you under arrest for illegal modifications."
"You're a bastard"
-"I know! Well, meet me at Sandra's cafe and we'll gawk at her new implants."
"Whatever..."
*click*

He thought to himself for a brief moment about whether he should trust Jason. After a few seconds he grabbed his keys and made for the door. Mads was always dressed formally, he didn't know how to dress casual anymore. His suit and tie made him. Over his suit he wore his motorcycle jacket which was older than him and previously belonged to Dr. Jacobs. He got outside and locked the door to his home and walked to his motorcycle. The bike was beautiful in all aspects. Never a spec of dirt on it, no damaged paint, it was flawless. Mads climb onto the three hundred forty-two horsepower, two hundred sixty-eight torque steel beast and started it. He revved the engine a few times to give it some warmth and began his journey to Sandra's.

Upon arriving at the cafe, Mads did not see any governmental vehicles and wondered if Jason had even showed up at all. Mads slowly walked into the cafe searching the seats for the government agent. Jason wasn't there. Mads extremely upset ordered tea to calm his nervs, his hair was glowering now. Then Mads heard a voice.

-"This is Jason. Sorry I didn't make it to the cafe, we'll have to sit down some other time. Don't act alarmed. Through the interface that was installed in you, I had a few extra things put it. You are now government property...well at least what is in you is. Anyhow, I'll give you the details when something big happens, for now, this is all I wanted to show you. By the way, you can't communicate back to me, you can only listen. We're watching you..."

Sandra set down a cup of steaming tea in front of Mads. Jason was right about her new implants so Mads decided to stay for a couple hours talking to Sandra. He got her number then left.
