I'm gonna say atheists. They really hit their peak in the 18th century. Richard Dawkins needs to read up on his Voltaire.
I can't say I know as much as I should about Dawkins, but I'm religious (mildly) and I'm
still impressed by Voltaire. All else aside, he just has that much style. "This is no time to be making enemies" indeed.
Also? Food. Everything is genetically modified, sweetened, filled with additives (often very harmful) or made from plants that get covered in pesticides. Often a mix of the above. And for all that, it ends up tasting horrible too.
For instance, wasabi. Or rather, what I get here in Japan instead of horseradish. By far my favourite seasoning, in any food where it actually fits. I
think they're the same thing, but I've been told the Japanese option is much spicier. It's made into a green paste that's generally really good. Ten years ago, you could get it anywhere.
Now? Still available everywhere. Only the plant itself has, a few rounds of selective breeding later, been made considerably less spicy. The paste itself also contains green colouring. Did I mention that it also contains lots of sugar now? Because it contains lots of sugar now.
Madness.
