Actually it was, maps on the PC have always been free, Modders have always created maps for the community, with MW2, no dedicated servers so Activision got rid of the compeition and can charge what they want.GreatVladmir said:Wow, that is truley amazing, a large, profit-based company selling there goods, I mean WOW! I am actually shocked by this, seriously, who ever heard of it.
Wake up mate, nothing is free, nothing.
Or perhaps Activision has realized, like I said they would during that whole boycott fiasco, that they can jerk gamers around as much as they want and we'll keep coming back like lambs to the slaughter or moths to the flame. If that is indeed the case then I'd like to remind everyone that I fucking called it!Mr.Pandah said:Guess what? People are going to pay for it regardless of what you have to say about it. So is Activision going to give out free stuff and make no profit off of everyone downloading it? Or are they going to make half the people who play, pay, and make an insane profit off of sheer volume? Think about it.
Oh I WISH PC users got treated like console users! Then we wouldn't be left out of a ton of great releases that come out on everything EXCEPT the PC. Also, we wouldn't get crappy ports but rather games that are properly ported over to our platform. Oh yeah, you guys really have it bad...Seras said:Oh noes a PC user getting treated like one of us console users! Pardon me while check if my care cup is empty..... well what do you know it is!
Yeeees because maps created by modders are not official, it is illegal for a group of modders to charge for there content, unless they pull a Garry's Mod on the community and in all my years PC Gaming, I've never heard of free content, usually all the new stuff came in expansion packs that sold for around £15-£20, this DLC malarky is a console thing.Jamieson 90 said:Actually it was, maps on the PC have always been free, Modders have always created maps for the community, with MW2, no dedicated servers so Activision got rid of the compeition and can charge what they want.GreatVladmir said:Wow, that is truley amazing, a large, profit-based company selling there goods, I mean WOW! I' am not saying PC gamers should get it for free while console players should pay, the point is that the PC has always had a strong modding community that creates free maps, If console players want to do that for consoles then great do it, although I doubt it is possible on consoles so thats why it does not happen. instead of comparing two different platoforms and asking if its fair for one to get it free while the other pays, ask yourself is it fair to pay for somethig that used to be free? in my eyes no it most certainly is not.GreatVladmir said:Yeeees because maps created by modders are not official, it is illegal for a group of modders to charge for there content, unless they pull a Garry's Mod on the community and in all my years PC Gaming, I've never heard of free content, usually all the new stuff came in expansion packs that sold for around £15-£20, this DLC malarky is a console thing.Jamieson 90 said:Actually it was, maps on the PC have always been free, Modders have always created maps for the community, with MW2, no dedicated servers so Activision got rid of the compeition and can charge what they want.GreatVladmir said:Wow, that is truley amazing, a large, profit-based company selling there goods, I mean WOW! Anyway, why should PC's get it for free hmmm? What make us so special? If we get it for free, the people on the consoles should get it for free aswell, its the right thing to do, why charge one demographic and not charge the other? It's like this bullshit that eco-cars don't have to pay roadtax, its unfair, they use the roads, there-fore they should pay roadtax.
