They mixed like maple syrup and bacon.

Some combinations of things just make sense, like chocolate and peanut butter, coffee and doughnuts, and honey and toast. Others can be strange in concept but wonderful in execution, like the aforementioned bacon and syrup, Marvel and Capcom, Final Fantasy and Disney, and House MD and Power Rangers.

This thread is about the latter variety.

What strange and possibly stupid combinations have you come across that turned out to be fantastic?

Cheese sandwich with caviar on top. Some girl said it was awesome and after some heavy consideration I decided to try it. It was great, but on the other hand... I was also pretty damn drunk. Might've changed the outcome.

I'm of course not talking about raw caviar, but Kalles. Probably Swedens most loved condiment(?).

Wendy's fries dipped in a Frosty. It sounds like it should be awful, but it was actually amazing. Ever since they changed their fries, though, I'm afraid to go back for fear of something so wonderful having been ruined.

I once read in a book about a sandwich with mayonnaise and after eight, tried it, not the most delicious thing ever, but not bad, not bad at all.

Do I detect another Calvinball player?

OT: Fries and icecream. Satisfying juxtaposition between salty and hot with cold and creamy.

I think the fries have actually gotten much better since the change. How they mix with the Frosty I'm not sure.

Hmmm let me think I'm not sure I have any weird combinations that haven't been mentioned yet. I do like potato chips and ketchup, but thats not really that weird of a combo. I'm also quite partial to bacon in ketchup as well as plain white rice and ketchup. As you can tell I do have quite a liking for ketchup.

Goddamn that actually sounds so disgusting I don't think I'd be brave enough to try and stomach that.

French fries and vanilla soft serve (or, alternatively, a vanilla shake). Dip fry in soft serve, eat. Deeeeeeelicious.

I had a slice of peperoni pizza with chocolate spread and peanut butter once, it was pretty good actually. And there was this other thing I tried, and my friend totally freaked out when I told her, I can't remember what it was, though...

There's this type of mint that a coworker offers around every now and then. Mix it with an energy drink and it tastes exactly like those mint-chocolate girlguide cookies. I was not warned beforehand, it was amazing.
