They're just jealous

So I was playing TF2 as usual, and I had an abnormally good run on the new payload map, Pipeline, scoring nearly twice as much as the other players, getting the mvp awards, etc. After about 2-3 rounds in, I started recieving threats from other players and the usual FU crap, and I think I muted about 3 players before finally leaving the server. So they were saying things like,"You must have no life", etc., and I'm thinking,"Seriously? Maybe you just suck. I've been a moderately good player for the last year or so, and these are in the serious servers, filled with people that know which end of the gun has bullets coming out, and I am usually on par with them. All I'm doing is staying on the cart. If they can't figure out that you get points from doing the level's objectives, that is why they aren't getting many points..."

I get this from Time to Time - especially as heavy. I racked up 15 kills in one life because I stayed on the cart, granted with a medic or two, and pushed it almost the whole freaking way. No one understands "team-work" in a TEAM orientated game - if the situation changes, your meant to respond, whether it's by changing class or tact. Everyone wants the achievements or the unlocks, end of story.

I always copped it a lot in BF2, as I always went Anti-Tank, and used it to blow Black-Hawks and Hinds out of the sky - oh the abuse. But that's half the fun really. It's grieving by playing the game as it's meant to be played!

Ah yes the "haters" of game land, this is a universal issue. One person is doing very good and everyone else gets pissed off. If it's the other team complaining it's because you're too good for them. if it's your own team it's because you're too good for them. either way they just hate you for being good

I hate people like that. The only people worse are the ones that accuse you of hacking... on a console game. Its just a retarded idea that people get when they find that someone is better than them and they cant except the fact that theyre not as good as they thought they were.

Hmm...I wouldn't say jealous. You sound quite paranoid there.

I think it's more the fact that getting completely owned by someone isn't exactly fun, and you get quite angry as a result. Naturally when people get angry they bring up stupid arguments that have no factual basis whatsoever; it reflects much better on them to admit they are shit at a game because "they have a life" rather than to say they're thick or haven't had this game very long.

For the record, yes I am shit at Team Fortess 2. But that's because I haven't had it very long.

EDIT: If you ever get called a hacker, take it as a compliment. You're so good people think you're hacking. I've been accused of hacking a few times at Left 4 Dead, so I guess I'm not shit at that.

DOUBLE EDIT: This reminds me of when I played Left 4 Dead on Saturday, we were surviving pretty much every attack they threw at us as Survivors and some person on the other team called us 'fucking luckers'. Yes, of course...it's complete and utter luck that we're winning. It's not that we stick together, recognise the sounds of the infected, know where to move, how to avoid getting pounced or protecting each other, it's luck. Seriously, the hundreds of hours I have played that game have gone to waste because it's all luck.

We owned them about 50 yards from the safe room. I just said 'still luck?'. No response, just a rage quit. Cockend.

Well, yeah, I've gotten quite raped a few times in my playing and understand such a situation, especially one particular person doing it all. But for the record, I was doing my job, not getting kills or camping. I do understand, but this was a rare time for me to do such a good job in the game.

Yeah I know, it's silly really. Oh well, they're not really worth your time, I wouldn't worry about it.
