I'm in the IT department of my college as suprise suprise thats what my degree covers :O the college is small enough and our budget.... even smaller. We have 3 rooms for lectures as there is probably less than 300 people divided between all the courses in our department.

Some thieving bastard just stole the projector in one of the rooms, seeing as how education budjets arent that big in Ireland atm a new projector isnt likely for the next few weeks anyway :( so some bellends greed has fucked our classes for the forseeable future.

Got any similar stories?

Seems like someone stole your "A"s in your title too! Will it never stop?

Anyway, we don't have much stealing at our school, besides the petty stuff like chalks, pencils and rubbers. We're nice people, generally.

Haven't noticed anything in my college yet, then again there's 2000 kids and the school is very prestigious so I don't see many bad eggs in there. And there better not be stealing if I'm paying 4 000 per semester to go there

My uncle used to steal odds and ends and a few books. Most the time he was aloud 2. Once he even had an ancient laptop brought home.

My boyfriend wishes to pass a message: "Upgrade the security and block people from being able to use them outside of the college!"

We have smart-boards in every room at our school, and the controllers for them are always stolen, and the kids sell them back. The teachers apparently can't take the controller back by force.

Some stupid kids pulled out the some gigantic screws out of a pillar in our school.
Then we were told it could colapse and it would be very costly to reinsert them.

What? What kind of student needs a projector? Do they need to shine a bit of light on a poorly light room in their house? Are they going to take it along with them to their next job interview? This kind of thievery just baffles the mind... Thats just unbelievably stupid!

There were a few instances of theivery at school, mostly other students stuff though. I do believe a dvd player or two were lifted, and after that they were all put in holders with a big bolt down the middle so you couldnt take it out.

I've had my bike stolen at least three times in my life, I might have lost count but seriously anonymouse people keep stealing my bike, regardless of whether or not I have locked it people still find it and steal it. My latest bike I keep inside the house now, and it's only a matter of time until someone storms my house to steal it.

Is this thread about anything being stolen or does it have to be about education only? Because a guy once borrowed a textbook off me and I never got it back, spent two weeks behind everyone else in science class.

I don't believe my school gets many problems. Of course, some people steal petty things. Like coats and the occasional cell phone.

Onetime someone stole one of the schools mini laptops, and then another person did the same a week later. I hated those things, so lulz ensued

That's just plain sad.

OT, my bike was stolen once after I forgot to lock it . . . lesson learned.

I worked in a school, we didnt let the teachers have remotes for their projectors, they had to ring us at IT support to come and switch it on in the morning or they stood on a chair and pressed the button

also, i stole pens from classrooms and spoons (for making tea of course) from the food tech rooms every holiday because some **** kept nicking my spoons and pens

Not much really. Although, in my old school, I got into the SCIENCE room by rattling the door knob. :S Waiting for the teacher, bored, being an idiot and i unlocked the door lol. This was the room with acids and nice sharp pointy items. :p But I don't think many people found that out, so no-one was melted. Or stabbed.

One time way back in grade four we had these little prizes for games that we played in class whenever we had spare time and one day someone broke into the classroom at night and stole them all, I know I know it's nowhere near as serious as the projector being stolen but we were kids and we were sad.

My college was fairly secure, they even had alarms on the library. All classrooms would lock automatically so people wouldn't be able to get into the classroom unless they were staff. However it was an open campus and at the bottom of the stairs where we had to keep our bags so we didn't steal books and smuggle in drinks, people from out of the college would come in and steal stuff from peoples bags.
At my secondry school, someone managed to steal quite a few keyboards and a laptop from the language centre.

I haven't heard of anything being stolen from a teacher, but Ipods and cell phones are stolen left and right at my school.

Oh my goodness...That doesnt make it any less retarded! Im sorry for the disruption this will cause in your learning because some greedy idiot decided someone else's property was their own...
