Things explode when burned

I live in the country...which is any area outside of the city limits. Anyway, we don't have a garbageman to pick up our trash (so why do we have to pay taxes for them?). On the plus side, this means no garbage water or smells coming from our trash. On the negative, this means a little more effort.

Simply put, we burn our trash. What can't either gets recycled or goes to a city dumpster. Food gets put in a trash can for compost. That thing takes years to fill up, so it's more of a dumping ground.

Anyway, only paper or plastic gets burned, which is the majority of anyone's trash. While I was burning it today, it exploded.

Seems somebody left an empty bottle of hairspray in the trash. Thanks whoever you were. Now I can't hear anything.

So what else explodes when burned? And do you have any interesting stories with too much explanation such as mine?

Gunpowder does, and also around here we used to drive it to the dump every week, but now they have a pick-up service, which is great.

A penis

Sorry, sorry, sorry, really immature joke that didn't make any sense, I apologize. I'm too tired to think.

Aaanyway..

Does barrels of gasoline explode? Games taught me that, but I can't trust them anymore! Not after what the Wii did to that poor little girl.

Is it legal to burn trash where you live? Just curious.

That is lame that you have to pay taxes for a service you dont get. Here we pay for it as an add on to our water bill and are not taxed for it.

Those things can be fucking lethal! I know what I'm making if I ever get into another riot. A molotov with 5 of those strapped around it!
I hope you're not using the atari lynx. I still play mine and love it.

Me and my friend were camping once and we decided to make a massive bonfire. so we get a few branches and few planks of wood going nicely until one of us finds a plie of boxes we looked in some of them and they were full of styrofoam. We threw the entire pile onto the fire, and about three minutes after one box explodes into a multicoloured inferno.
turns out one of the boxes was packed full of fireworks. It scared the hell out of me, though it was very pretty...

Cans do, and spectacularly, I might add.

So do cans of beans, by the way.

That was a fun night.

Another riot?

Don't you think that's a bit of a strange way to protest Ubisoft's DRM strategies?

Technically no. But they only enforce it if someone complains, since we have a no burn law.

But it's like what the hell else are we gonna do? EVERYBODY does it. Everybody knows it. It's like a law you don't pay enough attention to to enforce till enough people start bitching about it.

Anything flamable contained in a pressurized can of some sort. Deodorants, hair spray etc.

Happy times!

[sub]They're also great flamethrowers...[/sub]

It's probably the best detterent against them doing it again!

"Stop making stupid DRM or I'll set you on fire."
"YOU CAN JUST TRY! WE HAVE A FIREWALL!"

Lame-computer joke.

There is a certain type of stone that does too. It makes a delightful popping noise as it does so.

Batteries explode when burned. In fact if you short a car battery with a thick enough cabe you can get it to spontaniously explode for you.

Water also explodes, if you can get a hot enough fire.

Beer kegs go up a treat. When I was younger we nicked an empty one out of the back of The Kingsland restaurant and put it on a bonfire, then retreated about 50 yards and watched. After about about a minute and half of nothing we were arguing about whether or not to go and get it off the fire, when we heard a loud hiss. This was followed by a gawdawful bang and then the beer keg flew out of the fire, trailing bits of flaming wood and smoke before smacking into a wall.

We legged it.

Napalm, and Thermite...

Not that I used to make Napalm or Thermite in the shed behind my old house take it to the desert with some friends and detonate it. And it's not like I could give you a simple recipe if you PM me...

I always thought it was illegal because of what it did to the environment. I'm not one of those people by any means. What are you expected to do then, drive it down to the dump?

Dust or powder can sometimes explode without much cause. Doesn't even need to be a very explosive substance, sawdust or flour will do.
