ANTI-LIFE JUSTIFIES MY HATE!

Time heals all wounds. Well, not all wounds. There are just some atrocities in the history of gaming that nobody can forget, and nobody can forgive.

Let's get this out of the way now; E.T and Superman 64 were crimes against nature. Everyone hates it and they're still not forgiven.

Now that that's done, let's hear what crime of gaming that YOU still can't get over. It can be as minor as Assassin's Creed 2 putting part of the story as DLC (My personal choice.) or something as major as what Sega has done to Sonic over the course of the majority of the last decade (Also my choice.)

Maybe you're pissed at a company for having one exclusive that you desperatly wanted. Perhaps a publisher switched who they're staying exclusive to, much to your dismay. Perhaps your favorite studio went under, and you blame the industry for it.

What crime do you deem unforgivalbe?

Let the insanity begin!

Let's see... the Wii for making motion controls become so big. And, though I think it was CoD, I also have to go with whatever game started online leveling-up for shooters and such that, when you level up, you unlock new things. While this sounds good on paper for keeping people playing, it also creates balence issues in the fact that the higher levels have better weapons, which means that the lower levels don't stand much of a chance even if they're good just because they don't focus on that game.

Invisible walls. If the developer doesn't want you to go somewhere, then why can't they just put an actual obstacle there?

Whoever thought it was a good idea that balancing your game mechanics out became overrated for the sake of having cool stuff.

Battlefield (1942 or 2, I can't remember) was the first online FPS I can think of that had sprinting. It's really not that important.

Jackson estate getting rid of the original dancing zombie.
In some games braking (in cars) is better if you press the reverse button.

What EA did with Westwood and their C&C games.
I'd say that the C&C games were better then what Blizzard has to offer before EA stepped in... After EA got hold of C&C however.... No, I can't even describe it.....

1942 didn't have sprinting. It had standard running and for some reason a "walk" button, though I can't understand why one would want to.

It's probably a bit hard to override his actual death with "an assassin strangled him". His actual death was far worse. Remember he did exist.

And Cesare Borgia was a big historical twat too. I think they're stalling because they aren't sure how to do the modern setting.

Silicon Knights for focusing on Too Human instead of the next installment of Eternal Darkness. *grumbles*

The walk button has been around for years. It's so you can get better aim without actually stopping. Aiming down sights has replaced it now.

Well the reason the invisible walls are there is because they had visible ones and people said "There are walls everywhere that is so unrealistic!" It's a case of being screwed either way.

Vampire Hunter D. Opening cutscene ends and I enter the first room. There are two (Shock) vampires which I kill. From them I get two blood capsules and a blue key. There are four doors, the one I came in through aswell as a red door, a yellow door and a green door. Just in case someone was wondering I tried it with every door and it said that key isn't for this door. One key that doesn't work in any door in the VERY FIRST ROOM.

Agreed, you can't just ignore history when it is inconvenient. That is what Dan Brown does.

A lack of playable female characters is probably my biggest grievance with the gaming industry, although that's partly the fault of the target demographic so I should probably go with something less insulting.

I'd say it's the tasteless nickel-and-diming that's taken control of modern games: from endless expansion packs to ingame shops that take real money to DLC pack-in codes aimed at crippling the resale market to product placement to just the general treatment of gamers as walking safes that are picked through clever marketing; all of these things are what have taken the fun out of gaming. I resent being forced into the indie market because mainstream games have all come down with a case of the greedy stupids; I like buying my games at a real store with a real disc and a manual I don't need Adobe Acrobat to read.

I suppose third on my list would be online multiplayer taking priority over story mode. I remember when multiplayer was a cute bonus as something to do between missions or when you got tired of dying in the same place or had a friend over.
