Why does my country's language not have an equivalent of schaudenfreude? And why is it so damn difficult to hunt down dollar DVD bins in Canada when they are so damn common in the States!? And why can't my country have a good football (soccer) or basketball team?

Eew. Why would you want one of those? The heart attack isn't worth the novelty of saying "I ate a Double Down."

From Russia: Shashlik flavoured crisps.... Marshrutki and the Metro, which I don't have here, though we do have trams, and ours are better. But cost about twice as much for a single as the Russian ones.

Is that a bacon butty with cheese where the bread has been replaced by two chicken fillets!?
Yes, yes it is.
Jesus tap dancing Christ. A quote from Simpsons comes to mind...
'Mr. Simpson, if you want to kill yourself, we also sell handguns'

OT: A decent fucking standard and a general social mentality that surpasses the middle ages.

Well, the only thing I think Sweden (my home-country) lacks, is video arcades. We've got ONE as far as I know.

public transport
Oh god yes. Also, the coalition has removed the limits on how much the train companies can charge now. So, expect skyrocketing ticket prices in the future with the same shitty service. Oh no, wait they're going to cut the number of trains too, so a worse service.

When German train manufacturers want to try out their trains for British railways, they have to damage the tracks to get it to the UK standard.

YES! When I found out about the Double Down I really hoped it would travel to other countries. I demand my delicious heart-attack!

Ummm... Cheap stuff, I guess? Most things are rather expensive here.
I have to agree with you on that one, on the other hand we have the best living standards in the world, so I guess it evens out.
Of course, average wages are higher here than most other places, but paying $100 for a new game hurts. Especially when I see people on here complaining that their games cost $60.
I almost never pay that much for a game, maybe you are going to the wrong stores?
Well, there is a 100kr ($17) discount the first week after release; but other than that, new games cost 599kr ($100) at every store I've ever been to.

I wish America had less Crazies like the rest of the world (We have the most people that believe in Conspiracy Theories from Hitler's Death to Kennedy's Assassination to Presley's Death to 9/11... Only a matter of time before the Conspiracy of M. J.'s Death Surface!). That or a Free Form of Health Care would be nice.

Here in Kristiansand, we have four video - game stores. Gamestop, gamezone, GAME, and Spaceworld. The only one that sells games for over 500kr is Spaceworld. There are some rare occasions where the other stores sell games for more, but they are mostly around 300 - 500kr.

Huh... I've never seen a new game for less than 599kr (except during the initial discount week of course.) I haven't bought any games at 599kr since Dante's inferno (worst 599 I can remember spending) though, so things might have changed. I normally buy games at platekompaniet.

Oh, yeah, we have them here too, but I can't remember seeing them being so costly. I'm used to games being the costliest at releases, so I just buy games some months after release, when they're cheaper.

The latest game I bought, Civilization V, cost me 400kr a few days after release.

Civ V is a computer game. If you play exclusively on the PC, that might explain why games cost less for you than they do for me. If my memory serves me right, console games tend to be more expensive than PC games, right?

I only play on the PC, but a lot of my games have console versions as well. It may also have something to do with the fact that Civ V is the first game I've bought within the first week of release.

Live in the Netherlands. I wish we had hills and woods.

Sane politicians (and voters) would be sweet, since now we have a right-wing extremist taking up a massive amount of power.
It'd also be kinda cool if we adopted English as official second language - although I understand they're working on that in our capital city of Amsterdam already so we could be headed there eventually.

You don't have Reese's? Oh. My. God. I'm sorry.

I actually can't really think of anything at the time. Maybe the lack of biting insects that I hear the England has (according to my cousin). That would be nice.
