People always seem surprised when I mention I worked for a charity group for 3 years during high-school. I'm not sure why.

On a note that people don't know about me though...eh, here's a few: My reason for not drinking at parties is because it makes me depressed, not 'uninhibited'. I cannot stand crowds, and I feel very paranoid when in public. I don't watch porn and I don't find strip-clubs or casual sex appealing, at all (despite what most people seem to think).

I am a cool person once you get to know me. When people first meet me they usually think I am silently plotting their murders. My relaxed face looks like I am angry and in deep thought.

I like anime, manga and Visual Novels. And liking any of it in my school automaticly makes you a hentai and eroge lover.

I can't stand Vodka.
Shocking I know.

Or, I didn't use to be a cynic, and my transition to one was a very rapid one.

I was a pirate. (real sea pirate, not the twat internet type)
I assume you weren't the Disney "Captain Hook" kinda pirate, looking for treasure and Peter Pan.
Similar to a Somalian Pirate, or a lovable, "Yarr, thar she blows, ye scurvy sea dogs!" type?

OT: I...hmm, I have no REAL talents to speak of...although that's not surprising 'cos most people don't.
I guess it might be that I actually enjoy watching porn and that my sexual "brovado" and openness is not just a front, I really am that filthy. It tends to surprise people because (I presume) they're more used to guys being more comfortable with their sexuality than girls (you know, girls should be meek, mild and "pure") and so don't quite know how to handle it. Plus, it's not like I go on about sex all the time, so when I do, it can be surprising.

When people first meet me, most are surprised to learn that the punk-looking, pierced, tattooed,(sometimes blue, green, purple, or super-bleached-almost-white/blonde-haired) girl is also really into World of Warcraft, has played D&D, and is a Tolkien nerd to the point of having read The Silmarillion 7 times and knowing the one ring poem in it's original black speech.

Well, my parents (mother + stepfather so far) were pretty calm about it first but I do believe they actually were pretty shocked about me telling them that I am a Transsexual. I remember telling my friend that and he fell of the chair nearly in tears (Because he is a transophobe who had been spewing out how much he dislikes TG people).

Other than that..
Not much I presume.

Same here.

OT: Everything suprises people around me.
"I'm learning to play bass." -> "WHAT?!"
"Yeah, and i enjoy karaoke...very much." -> "B-BUT...WHAA?!"
Basic stuff. Then I begin explaining my views on the third world and their disposability, and my inventions...
By then they're going abeshit wild

I'm Batman.

Also I guess I'm really good at being charming and charismatic when I want to be.
I very, very rarely want to be.

Hmmm Probably would have to be that I cried during The Green Mile. (Specifically when John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan) was being executed.) It made me tear up.

And yeah I just used Parentheses within parentheses

I also just used the word parentheses 2 times.

....3 times.

That I am actually very shy in person. And that I hate most humans. You guys are good people, though.
Plus, I am a Communist.

[sub][sub][sub][sub]And that I am a... (non-childmolesting, non-child predator, non-CP possessing) Pedophile. But, considering that I don't really hide it and actually state it openly, especially here, it might not be much of a surprise. Most of you probably know by now.[/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]

- That I actually like a lot of sports and would love to play a couple. I like to play games, yeah sure videogames and boardgames and all but a lot of sports are games too. The Australian Open really made me want to get back into tennis.

- That I have quite a few psychological problems, amongst them depression (or at least recovering from it). I'm very good at putting on social masks so to say, so they wouldn't guess.

- Related to the previous; that I've been visiting psychiatrists for the last year/year-and-half. Even my grandparents don't know.

And that too, except the girl thing, though in lesser extent. It's something about my face and probably the fact that I have glasses, but judging by the way I dress (which is, without bragging, just awesome, I can dress myself really well) and generally behave they wouldn't guess. But here I am, having a couple of shelves full of games, sci-fi and fantasy books, comics, figurines and plenty of posters proudly displaying my geekhood.

That's changing a bit though as I've finally got some more geeky fashion items. I'm finally comfy enough with myself to start wearing things like an awesome BioShock t-shirt I got, a Captain Hammer one and put an Empire logo keychain on my laptop bag.
