Things that are oddly difficult to do in the dark.

So being a swimmer, I regularly get up before dawn to trudge to the pool and exercise myself half to death.
Only recently have I realised how disadvantaged I am every morning trying to do things in the darkness.

For example, I was completely unable to put on my thongs (sandals/flip-flops for Americans) in the dark and had to turn the light on to work out how the hell to get them on my feet without bending down to do it.

I also constantly manage to stub my toes on things around the house despite knowing the layout of everything in the house perfectly.

So what things do you find oddly challenging in the dark?

Typing. I always make annoying, minimal errors over and over and over and over again.

Also, walking. Damned walls are my enemies during the night...

OT: I thought playing bass in the dark would be difficult, it's not.

haha I like this topic.

Putting on pants is always difficult, probably because they always seem to have one pant leg that's inside out and you can never find anything to support your weight on.

I find it hard to type in the dark, too...

It could also be because my monitor is bright and it takes a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the dark keyboard from staring at a computer monitor...

Changing a disc. Can't count how many times I've dropped a disc in the dark and stepped on it.

See. Oh, you mean something else? Peeing is hard in the dark. Well, hitting anything anyway.
Speak for yourself~ I consider myself a master darksman (that's a dark marksman). Also, girls have a hard time missing when they're peeing...I hope...

The first one i feel for, i find my usual touch typing turning to squinting at the keys in vain, im not sure why the dark inhibits my touch typing, it just does. Opening anything, i cant open containers in the dark for the life of me, im always griping the lid instead of the box and it does everywhere.

you think that's bad? try living on the second floor, with the staircase right outside your bedroom door. I mean literally within two feet.

Turning my alarm off in a pitch black morning is always a struggle. I don't get it. It's the same distance from my bed as it is any other part of the day, and has been for months. And still, I manage to stub my toe or stand on something on my journey half a metre across the room to it. No problems at all during the day, if I wake and it's light, I can breeze across and all is well.
