Does anyone have something, that gets in the way of thier gaming plans... that happens all the time? Well often anyway

So I am not talking about unusual stuff like.... "The batteries on my keyboard/mouse ran out and there was no more anywhere in the house and all the shops had closed"

I mean more... Everytime you settle down to play said game, suddenly the girlfriend wants a chat and a cuddle up on the sofa with a movie (Coz that shit could happen alot)

For me, my gaming jinx... I go to work and think "Ya know, I am gonna get home, walk the dog, then play games... that's it all night", but THEN, when I do get home and settle down... I never seem to be able to figure out what I wanna play and end up just watching po.... movies instead. That always happens like, 3 out of 5 times.

I seem to be jinxed by my cat. Whenever I am about to get in a boss fight, that is when my cat wants to sit on my lap and start kneading my leg.

She has a sixth sense about these things.

I decide I'm going to have an all nighter with the gaming and then get home from work and can't even be arsed to turn the damned TV on...

If I play late at night, my skill and prowess dulls into noob level.

If I play in the WEE hours (5-6 a.m) of the morning then: "WOO!"

Hah! In a year i'm giving up gaming, leaving the forums and live happily ever after with my yet-to-have-met future spouse. "FUCK YEAH!" for nerd-dom.

oh yes, this happens alot

as a teen, i would get home, do my homework or w/e i had, then id be like "for the next 4 hours i have nothing but me and this game.."

*turns on game and plays 2 minutes*

*GOD DAMMIT GET UP HERE! MORE CHORES!*

>:/ rage risingg.....

and now a days, i tend to get home after work and sit down to play and ill end up either getting on here before or my roommates bug me with the most random shit, but its ALWAYS when im playin in a good part, usually a mini boss

so i've given up on hardcore gaming sessions just about.

I get this alot. (only school)
i think it's mostly finding relief into not being at work in a few hours and dreaming away on the fun you used to have with said game.

Resident Evil 4 does that for me. i constantly want to play it, but it's never as satisfying as thinking about how much fun i had the first time.

My netword adapter used to overheat and shut down after half an hour. But I, uh, "redesigned" it with a screwdriver and now it works just fine.

ninja'd me on that one... But my cat might beat yours, one time I was in the middle of a boss fight and she chewed on the controller's wire, for some reason it messed up the connection so bad the game console now turns off whenever that controller is plugged in.

Dude! Boss fight and the loss of a controller! What a bad kitty!

I don't understand this cats and cords thing. I had to upgrade all my AV cords to the Monster cables that have that mesh on them so the cats would stop chewing them. It's very frustrating and I don't understand their fascination with them.

Personally I think they are jealous of our video game systems getting all the attention. So they attempt to destroy them with whatever means necessary. I also have to stop my cat from sleeping on my gaming systems. When they are on. In the summer!

Crazy things.

between 8-11pm i get stuck talking to my g/f on the phone and because i'm not fully focussed and have the volume down, i suddenly suck at any fps. third person shooters don't suffer, but my KD ratio on MW2 is crap.

I have many things that mess up my gaming.

1. cats: I have two and it's seems they know when I'm fighting a tough boss/battle or getting good score and pick that time to jump onto my bed (usually into my lap knocking controller and blocking vision)and start making noise and all round pains in the ass.

2. Jobs: This mostly happens on the pc. I turn on a game e.g. TF2 I join a server and just as I spawn. "DO THIS JOB FOR ME" e.g. get something from the freezer.

3. and lastly is when I've been playing for over 4 hours. At that point for some reason my skills just nosedive into the mouth of a blue whale. I suddenly can't get many kills (if any) and just quit out of frustration.

Good call... :D Some games are more fun to think about than the effort it takes to actually play.

For me it's my cat as well. Only mine jumps on the keyboard because somehow it knows that is the only way for me to stand next to it and watch it eat. Otherwise it doesn't... My cat is very strange...
