I HATE IT when a car alarm a loud bang and most importantly strange bumps in the night. I hate it mostly because i dont know what it is and i dont know if im dreaming.

but as of late i hear sounds mostly Bangs and my dog bark. sometimes i jump and pull the knife from under my bed like some Knife wielding version of Treves from Holy Hearts [its a Manga Look it up]

But still what are your reactions to a awakening sound.

you have a knife under your bed? seriously is that normal?
you sound a bit tense...

i usually just listen and go: meh *sleep* or when i really think its something I just walk downstairs and check

My reaction to being woken up is usually either "whats that goddamn cat doing?" or "oh, its after 3am, the piss head who lives upstairs must be home."

If its a burglar, then hes free to take anything other than my Code Geass statues, my TV and my PS3.

I must be super normal then since I have several. My girlfriend wants a gun more than I do and we both joked about keeping it in the fridge as a reference to an inside joke.

I also have a very racially derogatory alternative name for car alarms...

I have answered my door on more than one occasion with one of my combat knives tucked behind my back since I'm on the 14th floor of my apartment building and like a lot of people in apartments I do not know my neighbors at all so visitors are pretty much guaranteed to be unwanted people. All of this comes into serious consideration when it is a known fact we have a coke addict transient that sleeps in the 17th floor stairwell, and another that tends to occupy the lobby.

Any noise that sound (stair creak or something knock on the outside door) like someone breaking into my home put me in wide awake mode with second after hearing it. However I go into wide awake mode for any unusual sound that I'm not familiar with.
