I just read "the sacrifice" the comic that acts as a prequel in between left 4 dead's camagn "Blood harvest" and "the sacrifice" and also gives the survivors backstorys

and now I can no longer enjoy the events of left 4 dead...I dont think Ill be bale to play it anytime soon and I cried

in fact I watched requiem for a dream the other day and im actually more depressed after reading the comic than I am after that movie

so what game/movie/ anything else has had a negative lasting impact?

Just finished Dragon Age: Origins the other day, and just before that I finished Beyond Good & Evil. Now I'm sad they are over.

Still the greatest graphic novel of all time, though.

Batman: Night Cries. It's a batman graphic novel about child abuse. After I finished reading it, I felt empty and when I realized what it was about, my first thought was "What did I get myself into?" But the story was still good and the art is beautiful. So I reconmend it, but ONLY if one can handle the subject matter.

Don't worry, it isn't too bad. It will only destroy your innocence and all your hopes and dreams for the future of gaming.

But you'll get over it. ;)

Heavy Rain

Hell, I watched one of the "happier" endings and I still almost cried!

If you ever want to be depressed, play some Heavy Rain

Being a Seattle Mariners fan[footnote]They're a baseball team[/footnote]... so much losing ;_;. In fact, they just played an exhibition game in Japan against a Japanese team and fucking lost. So angry and depressed right now.

I got slightly depressed by the reaction to this Japanese guy winning the most recent UMVC3 e-sports tourney.

Yeah this guy wins against all these American guys with a really unorthodox team (no Wesker!) and you guys go and pull the Pearl Harbour card. Among several others.

Match here. It's fucking amazing

*applause*

I will never understand over-patriotism/nationalism.

Oh and the ending to Code Geass R2 made me depressed. But the good kind of depressed! If there is such a thing.

Double oh. Clannad. Afterstory. Fuck. Anyone who's seen that anime will understand what i'm talking about. It just bodyslams your heartstrings up and down repeatedly, i couldn't even finish the second series...

I need to cry in a corner now.

Neon Genesis Evangelion made me feel a bit bleak and grim. Not because of the 'end of the world' premise but because of Shinji. I could relate to him. But it also had the opposite effect at the end. It made me realize how wonderful my life is and how lucky I am I have a family that loves me and friends that will be there for me. And the fact that I don't have to pilot giant robots fighting bibilical monsters :p.

The fact that I have no idea what Im going to do with my life. That all my friends are off at real universities and I'm struggling through community college. I dont have any dreams, goals, or skills. Seems like I'm just killing time. Forever.

Hey Vault101. I feel like I see you on every thread and I'm pretty sure we've even gotten in an arguement once. We should be friends, or something.

OT:
Not having enough time and money to buy and finish Mass Effect 3. I've limited myself to like half this site's content over the last month, because I'm trying not to let any part of the story get ruined for me.

Stupid threads (not counting this one, this one's pretty interesting) getting more popular then my threads.

Not having anything to do.

The awful endings to Mass Effect 3. After playing through such an amazing story, seeing the endings for the first time I just sat there and thought "Really? All that for pretty much nothing? I just... wow." It was hard for me to pick up another game after that. I literally felt empty inside.

Aside from that... hm. Yea, not much. It takes a lot to get me depressed.

I'm a 11 year law enforcement officer so my heart is stone in a lot of ways. I know I 'feel upset' at characters and things like that but nothing that effects my mood greatly.

Requiem for a Dream is up there though. It's kind of tame compared to reality. I always think of the um... "ass to ass" scene whenever people talk about legalizing prostitution. I've met women who have done... worse for drugs. It's really sad when it's legal and there is nothing you can do to their scumbag pimp
(I hate pimps so much... I worked vice for 3 years).

Or
Okay you asked for it. While I was trying to interview a suspect in a jail setting he was so drug addled that he ripped open his calf with his long nails and began pulling out muscle matter and eating it he was on the other side of glass so I couldn't immediately do anything. It ended when he started tearing his own tendon and his leg couldn't support his weight. The damage was so bad that the leg became useless. He did it because he was pretty sure there was a silverfish in his leg. Oh and he didn't stop doing drugs after that even after going to rehab for a while. Five years later he was killed from a stomach wound in a fight at an IHOP.
You'd never believe how much blood a person can lose from that. Also, I didn't eat meat for like 3 weeks.

That's not even mentioning all the things I've seen people do to their children.
