Things that make the internet explode

Anyone who has been on the internet long enough has seen the internet explode. Whether its because something amazing has happened or someone did something incredibly stupid. A good example, in case I'm horrid at explaining, would be the whole mass effect 3 ending fiasco.

So, my question is what is your favorite thing that has made the internet explode?

If you don't have one, what do you think will be the next big "explosion"?

edit: I also mean to say that it is entirely from your perspective. What you consider big may have not shown up on another person's radar.

well, what I mean by "blow the internet up" I mean from your perspective. Since I only lurk on gaming and gaming-related sites it seemed to be everywhere. I'm gonna edit to make it clearer.

In that case the blockbuster of a trade that the Toronto Blue Jays pulled off a few days ago "blew it up" for me. On my Twitter feed, on the radio stations I listen to (sports talk) -- it was everywhere.

And I feel like this is a "only one" story on this site, 'cause nobody else will care. But if it's by perspective, that was a pretty big one recently.

OT:I think that SOPA was the closest thing to making the internet explode.
In a way, the unity shown in online culture during the anti-sopa times was quite inspiring.

I know a few.

-When triple A games don't live up to the hype.
Eg. Assassins Creed 3...have no idea why everyone has a rod up their butt because it didn't live up to the trailers and hype. It was still fun. 0_0
- The American elections...good thing we have another four year.
- When someone comments "first" on something.
- A new Elder Scrolls game.

That's all I remember now...there was more but these ones were entertaining.

Also, blowing up the internet could be achieved by storing all the data on one device and then blowing said device to smithereens.
