I had a vicarious "HELL YEAH!" moment a little while ago. My kid wanted to go shopping with her pocket money. I bank it on her behalf, so we went down to the ATM. While I was getting out her money, she said "Sweeet! Dad! Look what I found! Can I keep it?", holding up a $50 note.
I told her that it must belong to someone, so we had to be resposnsible. We'd wait 15 mins and see if anyone came looking for it. No one did, so I said "Right-o. Well I guess it's yours then..." Needless to say she was stoked.
We took the money down to the store, she chose out what she wanted and we took it to the cashier. When they price checked it, I looked and pointed out that it was marked at like $5 less. Apparently the store has a policy that if you catch them out on that, it's free!
So, my kid got $50 cash AND $50 worth of toy. Later, I made her favourite food for dinner. As I put her to bed that night, she said "Dad, life doesn't get much better than today, does it?"
"Not often, gorgeous. Good night."
