Am I the only one who thinks that d'Artagnan is the role Orlando Bloom was born to play?
As horrible as "Man in the Iron Mask" was, I think anyone is going to have a hard time trying to top Gabriel Byrne's performance as D'Artagnan. Of course Gabriel Byrne can act the shit out of any role he chooses. Of course Iron Mask was the final book of the series and all the characters were much more mature in the book so D'Artagnan had moved past his unsure, fumbling youngster stage. If the new movie starts at the beginning with D'Artagnan just joining the three musketeers Orlando bloom might do well, unless they try to make it a gritty reboot with D'Artagnan being a badass who sticks people with his sword first and ask questions later :p.

Hmmmmm, on the whole, its looks like I'll be avoiding the cinema in 2011. Maybe only one or two films seemed......interesting at best

Well, looks like 2011 is going to have me seeing the "Marvel Studios" logo every time I start a movie. With two very green exceptions.

Sucker Punch looks all sorts of awesome, and Pirates 4 is going to be a good ol time, even at it's worst those movies are still entertaining as hell XD Plus it looks like they're going back to basics with this one, which is always good.

Hey! What about Kung Fu Panda 2?! I loved the first movie and I'm totally excited for the second one. It's the movie I'm looking forward to the most out of everything.

I'm not sick of Captain Jack Sparrow, but I am sick of the movies going for a dark, edgier feel. This new one looks like it's going back to adventure and hijinks, which should make it better than the last two.

And isn't the Dark Crystal sequel coming out sometime in 2011? Not sure what to make of that, but I will go see it.

The main movie I'm interested in is the english version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, they can work on fixing any of the criticisms the Swedish version got (which I heard it was a great movie) and make it even better.
Argh, nooo! This is the last story I ever want to see being made by Americans anyone other than the Swedish!

I'm not just saying this to be a raging fanboy, nor am I a pretentious douche trying to appear cultured simply because he watched a film with subtitles. If you have ever watched anything made by Yellow Bird (The company responsible for the Swedish films), you would never want to watch anything in English again. There's just something so real about Swedish TV/Film that makes Hollywood pale in comparison.

Besides, there is something altogether different about Swedish crime dramas, they're almost a genre of their own. If anyone has ever watched Yellow Bird's Wallander movies (They were made for TV but they call them movies over there) and then compared them to Britain's BBC versions... they just somehow miss the mark... and I LOVE the BBC!

Well, I enjoy Jason Statham, he's good at what he does, you have to credit him that and his movies usually arent too boring for too long if at all, so I'll see him in The Mechanic

Your Highness looks insanely funny, especially since it has two lines in the trailer that pretty much sold me on the movie like "Ninjas... damn" did.

Frankie and Alice appears interesting at least. Then again, I'm a fan of those kinda movies.

Sucker Punch is going ot be my Inception because the people that ruined Inception for me are NOT going to have an interest in it. Besides that, its hard to say no to that movie from the trailer.

This:
http://verydemotivational.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/demotivational-posters-who-green-lighted-this.jpg
pretty much sums up all opinion I have on The Beaver

The summer seems like it will be a mixed bag. Thor will make it a good summer early, PotC: On Stranger Tides will either dampen or enhance it depending on how the film decides to carry itself, X-Men: First Class leaves me hesitant, though I think I'll be riding the Green Lantern wave by the time it drops to carry me through. Transformers: Dark of the Moon is going to douse my summer fun, but Captain America will hopefully bring it back up. And the ending of Harry Potter with HP: TDH2 will leave a sense of fulfillment and depression in someone of my Generation. As well as pity and sadness for those of this generation whose HP is Twilight. Cowboys and Aliens just doesnt look like it could carry the relevance and hype it seemed to have when first announced. And to round out my summer I get Jim Carrey in Mr. Popper's Penguin and I loves me some Jim Carrey. Which will hopefully sustain me on a tide of good feelings since the only other august movie that looks oka is Fright Night.

And while the the fall is always sketchy this early, if Moviebob is correct with his expectations, it looks like only The Muppets, War Horse, and The Three Musketeers for nostalgia, difference, and end of the year action respectively.

Though... Real Steel may be good, but I enjoyed that episode of The Twilight Zone so I may be judging on biasedness.

EDIT: The Green Hornet and Season of the Witch do look like good ways to start the new year to.

If Sucker Punch lives up to its trailer it will be the most awesome thing ever filmed in the history of awesome. And if there is a kind a loving god it will be the inspiration for the next Crank, or at least something starring Jason Statham.

Also, I would like to think that 'Your Highness' will be good, but unfortunately I don't believe any movie being marketed the way 'Your Highness' is being marketed will be good, because I have some grasp of pattern recognition.
"Magic... *cracks neck*... mother ******." Seriously, all they have to do is keep that line and it will not matter if the rest of the movie is any good.

So there is almost nothing good for the first three months? Good to know. Overall the year looks kind of... sparse? I guess? I'm not terribly impressed with most of it.

Supposedly, this one will see Tom Cruise becoming the "older mentor" in favor of a new, younger lead hero, which couldn't have been good for his ego. Or his Thetan-Levels...

That's what I left this article thinking.

More on topic... hmm, I guess there are a couple things that I wanna see.

Although I maybe wrong, I'm also interested in these films that are supposedly going to be released in 2011. Though some of them might be going through development hell.

Will James Wan, the guy known for directing the first SAW film and creating Billy the Puppet be successful making a movie based on a video game franchise which involves killing Dracula?! Castlevania, the movie, with James Wan as it's director and writer comes 2011.

Will Keanu Reeves dream of playing Spike Spiegel on the big screen be realized? Cowboy Bebop, the live-action film based on the anime comes to 2011, produced by Keanu Reeves' manager, Erwin Stoff.

Is the world ready for a sequel to Cloverfield?! Well get ready, cause in 2011, we might just get it.

Can the sequel undo the terribleness of it's predecessor? Especially if the predecessor was a live-action adaption of one of Japan's greatest manga/anime franchises? Dragonball 2: Reborn, comes 2011. And here's hoping we see Vegeta and Freiza in it at least!

Need more Bruce Campbell? You said yes?! What if I said, Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams in a new Evil Dead film?! You said yes?!! Good, because that might just happen in Evil Dead IV, supposedly coming sometime in 2011 should the film be made.

After the Silent Hill live-action film got good comments on it's visuals but criticized it's plot, can it's sequel prove itself better? Find out in Silent Hill 2, in 2011.

Can Steven Speilberg make a live-action adaption of a popular manga/anime good? Can Dreamworks make a good film that's not animated?! Find out in, Ghost in the Shell, the live-action film, come 2011.

And last but not least, want to see more of Cheech and Chong's modern incarnations get into more hijinks? If yes, you might even like it more as a Christmas movie! In, A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas!

I think War Horse will be pretty good at the end of the year, saw a theatre production and nearly cried my eyes out at it.

But all that looks very small next to the real event of November: Jason Segel brings Jim Henson's Muppets back to theaters - and back to Muppet Show continuity -- in The Muppets. Hell yeah, Muppets.
Wow. When I was a kid, I watched the Muppet Show religiously. Fuck jesus. So I was disappointed when for the longest time the Muppet Show was only available on single disks with two episodes or so on them instead of full seasons. They had since release them in season boxed sets like everything else, so I got season one and i didn't bother getting any of the other seasons.

My god, it was horrible. What the hell happened? Was I stoned?

I'm excited to see things in the coming year! Firstly because there are some truly badass looking things coming out! Secondly because I will actually have a job and will likely be able to afford seeing things in the theater!!!

Yea as much crap as good. Though the high point has to be The Muppets coming back. Wish this was done sooner. I just hope they keep Fozzie the bear's puns. Knowing Disney they might screw up the things I like to make it more marketable to the new audience. Still good to see there is more then one movie to look forward to.

Jim Carrey jumps back into the family-comedy pool as the (human) star of Mr. Popper's Penguins. It'll ... wait. I remember this book. It was cute. Hm. How did I not know they were making this into a movie? And Angela Lansbury and Carla Gugino are in it, too? Huh. Y'know what? I have nothing snarky to say about this. (Yet.) I'm looking forward to this. So there.
What a dork I am. I literally gasped when I read Angela Lansbury. We just don't see her enough. Somehow I don't think anything with her in it can be bad. That's just where I stand. Thanks for the forecast btw, very informative for a layman who doesn't keep up on release schedules.

Also your job at it's worst doesn't sound all that bad. Need a sidekick? Eh... probably not. But it was worth trying. You could just unload all the worst movies on me and I'll do my part by paying off my doctor bills.
