In a few weeks, I'll be on a plane to Austria with my family. This is the first time we'll be in Austria, so I'm asking for advice here. The title says it all, what is there to do in Austria except sightseeing and shit?

EDIT: Okay, jokes aside, could I get some serious feedback?

Grow a burning hatred towards all Jews, and then visit Germany to start a new, radical, political party.
You know, unfortunately, we're not so big on oppresion and politics. We're all for being radical though. Oh, and we love parties.

Carefully avoid mentioning the Anschluss, in every third sentence.

The amount of Hitler jokes has actually surprised me. As for things you can do, I would have said sightseeing( as it's my favorite thing to do on holidays) but you said I couldn't recommend that. In fact, I'm out of idea's completely. I'd throw a hitler joke in, but I don't find them amusing.

Visit some of the local bars, that feature local jazz.
It's the only thing to do when you go somewhere, really.

How about Holocaust jokes?

What's the difference between a Jew and a pizza?

A pizza doesn't scream in the oven.
Your going to get banned, I know it.

Not even a smile. Just a dissapointed shaking of my head.

On topic: How about try some crazy Austrian food? A quick scan of wikipedia brings a number of nice sounding dishes to my attention.

Get blind drunk on hilariously cheap alcohol, sleep with foreign women, take a few illegal substances, wake up in one of the many, fine Austrian ditches.
Good times.

Serious suggestions. I don't think that's defined as family fun. Maybe for your family, but not mine.

You said except Sightseeing?
News flash Captain, aside from touring round certain places, Austria isn't really a "Family friendly" environment.
That whole genocide thing really brings down a countries fun factor. (Unless your last name is Khan?)
If you want family fun, take a few boardgames, I prescribe Boggle, Scrabble & Cludeo. I'd suggest Monopoly but I get stabby when people don't stay in my hotels because they want to save money.
Take Jenga too, just for kicks.

I suggest you find some pamphlets whilst you're there, look for "amusement" parks or something.
You could probably find a ski slope or two, too.

I would suggest--go to Vienna. Beautiful city. --Oh wait, you say except sightseeing. Uh.

Try the beer. I don't know much about the party scene in Austria--but I've heard it's big in Europe, so look for a club or a rave, try some LSD.

Maybe lock your children in the basement and raise the leader of the fourh reich with one of them?
