Things you just couldn't get into

Grand Theft Auto: The premise just never got me interested, not to mention that sandbox games like that just bore the life out of me.

I could never get into (real) sports; my parents tried to make me into an outside person and have me hang with the athletes but all that went down hill when I realized that sports were boring and gaming was awesome.

Also Halo, I played the first one and Halo 3 and I honestly don't see what's so great about it.

Call of duty: war games don't appeal to me at all

Dragon age: getting really bored with midevil rpgs, its pretty much the same thing as the previous one and gets really tedious.

Racing games and music games: like need for speed and guitar hero, both game types aren't fun at all.

Anime- The art style and the anime tropes just make them un-watchable to me. I've tried, and I even enjoyed one or two, but good lord...oh, and the fanbase is the most annoying one on the planet. Present company excluded, but you know who I mean.

Metal Gear Solid- The actual game is good, but those cutscenes....blech. If the cutscenes were actually good (some are, but they are few and far between) it wouldn't be so bad, but good lord all that pointless techno-bable just angers me.

I had lots of trouble getting into Oblivion. Granted, it was far from bad, it was pretty damn good. But I just couldn't get into it. I didn't like how the world levels up with you. I think the concept is brilliant but when you're fighting easy wolves at one level and tough as hell trolls the next, there's definitely a problem there. It also felt punishing and more restricting if you had to play as a certain class. If I chose to be a standard knight using only swords and shields, I felt like I was missing something if I didn't choose any magic powers.

But want to know the weird thing? I loved Fallout 3 and I they both had sooo many similarities. If you said they were the same game, I would agree [small](but only to a certain extent)[/small].

I haven't given up on Oblivion, but damn, is it hard to get into.

If you think the Lord of the rings is written boringly then your looking at it from the wrong angle; Tolkein was more interested in Language than the story so the main attraction, and the reason it's known as a classic, is how beautiful it is to read.

I can never get into 'hack and slash' games. I've tried DMC God of War and a bit of bayoneta but just never seen the attraction...

Deus ex- yes this game is awsome and amazing but theres somthing about the graphics that kinda creep me out

Came here to post this one because I recently resolved my issues with it. Now that I have I'm having the time of my life. Games have gotten so DUMB since then, and this is a breath of fresh air.

For me, it wasn't the graphics as much as the really weird AI for handling stealth, and the odd aiming mechanics that try to be RPGish, but kinda fail. Once I got the feel for the game's issues though, I started having a blast. A FPS that can be won with diplomacy? What?

Pro tip: Make a custom class, and level up how you see fit. The best bonuses are from leveling skills that are not your major skills, because then you can get a larger bonus to your attributes once your character levels up. In fact, you probably should read up on Efficient Leveling [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Efficient_Leveling] so that you understand what you are doing. The game is quite unforgiving if you haven't maximized your attributes since your enemies get much stronger.

Heh, if you want "hard to get into" you should try Morrowind. The thing about Morrowind is that once you do get into it, it's FAR more rewarding because the game lore and character building is much deeper. The real roadblock in it is the awful combat mechanics and the slow initial character run speed, but if you can remember to not attack some one with a weapon that you have no proficiency in, then you should do fine. Morrowind handles low weapon skills as a "hit for 0 damage" and displays a whiff through the air with your weapon. I've heard of people dying in their first 10 minutes of the game because they tried to dagger an old lady to death, but they had no short blade skills.

The running thing is annoying at first too, but if you level up right, you can be running at twice the speed you can achieve in Oblivion when maxed out, and faster if you abuse an early-game enchanted item. Also, there is no Efficient Leveling issues in Morrowind, so you can just level up when you want, how you want.

Halo games after 1: i like FPS but i just didn't like these. Played 2,3, and ODST (all by rental, because I enjoyed 1)but haven't played reach yet. But i don't think I will.

Metal Gear Solid: Again, i don't mind sneaking around, but the convoluted story and (in my opinion) the horrible controls ruin it.

Final Fantasy XII: I can stand XIII better than this. My friend played it and I got to see the all of the cutscenes, and the story is wonderful! But the gameplay was just boring

Oblivion & Morrowind: made a class, played for quite a while, and it was fun. At first. But the whole continent felt...detached and unpopulated. I saw more people wandering around in fallout and that was after a nuclear apocalypse!

MMO's: If im really bored, sure ill play a free one. But i tried out WoW on a trial and have played dozens of free one's at the request of my gf who loves them but I just find then boring after a while. I honestly don't see why anyone pays for WoW.

One point that FAQ I feel doesn't drive home strong enough is when making a custom class, make sure you do two things: have only 1 skill selected per governing attribute, and make all the skills be ones that you plan on not using on a frequent basis. The point is that you level those skills only when you want to level up. Oblivion is retarded in the fact that if you level your skills in the wrong order, you will fuck up your character. Also, by choosing one skill from each attribute ensures you still have 2 other skills that govern that attribute that won't fuck you up for leveling them too much.

EDIT: If you want max HP, level up your endurance to 100 as fast as possible. You gain HP each level based on your endurance, so the longer you stay at lower values, the less HP you will earn. Heavy Armor, Armorer (repair), and Block skills govern Endurance. I suggest taking Armorer as your major skill because you can go to a shop to get your equipment fixed if you don't want to level up that skill. The other two skills are kinda needed for basic survival and can't be fully controlled as well.

Mass Effect - Played it a few times, tried to get into it multiple times, but I just don't like it. It's a shame because I was looking for a nice Sci-fi shooter type game to play.

Gears of War - I think the reason I didn't like this was because (in my opinion) it tried way too hard to be serious. Plus I couldn't tell what I was shooting at because the grey enemy chose to stand in front of a grey wall. Surprisingly I enjoyed the sequel.
