Make that 2! I love the Night Angel Trilogy it is one of my favorite series of books. Even through it has one of the worst characters ever made by man in it. See if you can guess which one I mean.
Umm well Kylar is boring hero sometimes and Vi kinda lost all interesting components in book 3 but cant think of anyone id label as one of the worst characters ever

Well in regards to his fantasy (I haven't read anything from his other genres) "The View From the Mirror", being the first series that take place in the same universe (thus far there are 3: two quartets, and a trilogy). This is the best one thus far, I couldn't put those books down! The second quartet... not so much. I've finished 2/4 but... it's kind of beyond depressing ;u;

He's recently started another fantasy series that has no connection to the previous ones. Haven't started reading it yet (I have a massive piles of books I need to read but keep putting off...) but it looks interesting.

And another good series is Imager's Portfolio series by L.E. Modesitt Jr. Which... again nobody knows about. I think I need more friends that like reading ;u;
LE.Modesitt Jr. Sounds very familiar and ill look into those i also have lots of books i should read and need more friends that read. The biggest Problem i have is that i have some friends that read but none that read Quickly and i burn through books when im bored, Once read the first 12 Wheel of Time(also amazing series if you can take the slow pace) Books in less than a month because book 13 was coming out
He's a fairly prolific writer, he has a lot of series under his belt, so you've probably seen his books before. Which makes it even more amazing when nobody has heard of him aaah.

To spam more really good fantasy authors: David Eddings. He is soley responsible for getting me interested in fantasy again (I'd grown out of children's fantasy and teen fantasy is... quite frankly incredibly shit so I fell out of the genre for a while). Adrian Tchaikovsky of "Shadows of the Apt" fame is also very good, it's like clock/steampunk and fantasy and a sort of industrial age... with bugs. At first I was like "no" but then I actually read it and I was like "YESSSS". And it's the first instance where my character ship became canon holy shit I felt so validated You're scaring people again Sol.

The Ys Series, developed by Falcom I believe....published by XSEED. The most underrated RPG series I have ever seen in my life, and yet it is just soooo good. If you have played Ys Seven for the PSP, most people would understand. Ys Seven was what got me into the entire series. Until that time, I had no idea the Ys series even existed.

I loved both Kylar and Vi. I was talking about Elene. I found her really inoying and because of her the first half of the 2nd book was a complete bore.

I know I'm not the only person on here whose played it, I'm really disappointed by how there are only 2 Otogi games when there are about 7 Onimusha games, 5 or so Devil May Cry, 5 or 6 God of War and countless other games that emulate those. Yet Otogi...well I guess it didn't have a lot of western appeal especially once the Anime Bubble burst (anime is still relevant but not nearly as big as it was back in the early 2000's I think...I'm right, aren't I?) What I love about Otogi when compared to other spectacle fighters is how organic the fighting engine is and how the environments are destructible. The best example of what I mean can be seen in just about any video showing the boss fight between Raikou and, The Crimson King.

Like I said; I know I'm not the only person who loves the two Otogi games but I hate how they never made the leap into the last generation and I'm afraid of what may come from a reboot.

I OWN THAT SERIES. GARTH NIX EEEEE <3

... actually a lot of things I like people assume I'm talking about something else.
I mention Cold, people think I'm talking about Coldplay... *sigh*
Sure, while I'm sleeping they all come out of the woodworks. >.>

And Cold, the band? They're pretty neat. I've noticed a lot of people don't really like the whole grunge/post-grunge genre as a whole just because of... I dunno, the generally gritty vocals and repetitive lyrical content? Nobody I know has ever heard of the band Hourcast.

Gaming forums can feel like an isolating place when you thoroughly enjoyed Deus Ex: Invisible War...

I liked the book "A Crystal Age" by W.H.Hudson. I can't recommend you read it, as I don't think it caters to the majority. It's short but tough little read, I would like to say that is because it's so old but it's more likely to do with my grasp of language than anything else.

Not quite the same, but I watched the Matrix revolutions last night and enjoyed that much more than expected. Have to watch number 2 as I think that's the one that gets the most hate.(?)

EDIT: I am starting to enjoy Punk music, which is really bizarre in some aspects. As I have tried listening to it before and found it crude and messy (for lack of a better word). Now however the winds are changing and I am starting to divulge more and more punk.

(Most the music I like has roots in punk, but in the past I didn't really see/hear that, I guess)

Oh i forgot about music! ive never met anyone who has head of Dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip, which is the only non-parody rap ill listen to willingly, and the videos are hilarious if nothing else because you're watching a British guy with a massive beard rap with an amazing vocabulary

Im gona throw in a comic book.
Gladstone's School for World Conquerors is a great read.
Think Teen Titans meets Hairy Potter and they are all bad guys.
Even better, you can read the first print here. http://www.popguncomics.com/gladstonesboingboing.pdf
Enjoy!

Also. It is an indi comic. They just broke away from image to attempt self publishing. If you like it, keep an eye out for the kickstarter that will drop in a few months.

I've read both The seventh tower and chronicles of the Necromancer (or at least the first book) Very good series

OT: Ive met one other person who has heard of/ read The Night Angel Trilogy or Lightbringer Series by Brent weeks...therefore i recommend it often
Dammit, all my choices have been ninja'd! I love the Seventh Tower series and the Night Angel trilogy! I've only read the Black Prism however, not the second one yet.

I say the Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander... most people have heard of the 2nd book: the Black Cauldron, but I don't know anyone besides me who has read all 5 books

On the plus side the series is finished unlike Dresden which just keeps getting better and better but bring bigger and bigger clifhangers :)

Some advice use Wikipedia to find out the names of the books. Depending on what country you are in the books were either released in sets of 2 or seperatly. I live in the uk so the first 8 were released in 4 omnibus books and the others I had to get individualy.

The book Cloud Atlas. Come to think of it, not many people seem to have seen the (inferior) movie either.

The game Oni. One of my few childhood favourites that has managed to cling on to its little corner of my heart.

The book (and series) Tomorrow When the War Began. Some of the best youth fiction I've ever red. Think Red Dawn, but set in Australia with better characters and with all the glorification and yank-wank removed.

The movie Kingdom of Heaven. So damn pretty. Also quite charming, if a bit cheesy at times.

The book Only Revolutions, i suppose. It's the history of the United States told as a poem about two lovers. And it's absolutely beautiful.
