Dang! I thought I'd get to be unique and say something no one else said. It is for a different reason so that's something I guess....right?Orange12345 said:Extra credits. I used to love extra credits "hipster scarf activate" and even watched them before they were on the escapist, Hell they are what brought me to the escapist and I did continue to watch them for a bit once they moved to penny arcade but after a while I just lost interest
I wanted to play WarHammer once but I saw the price tags and wiped my hands of it. I dunno how people can afford to play that it is insanely expensive I cut my loses before I even started.SckizoBoy said:See, I still like the game & the fluff (always loved the fluff)... but I'm definitely with you on hating Games Workshop and whoever does their pricing, even in the UK (that is to say, the source of all WH40K goodness) everything's s'damned expensive. I get all my models from other hobbyists these days... *le sigh* I kinda feel sorry for their staff, because they're basically forced to buy shitloads of the products (granted with a piddly staff discount), but don't really get remunerated for all the extra work they do. You've really got to love the hobby to work at a GW outlet, because most of my GW friends have long since left or moved up to head office to different depts (including one guy who's now at 'Eavy Metal).Corax_1990 said:Warhammer 40k, the game that is, anybody who has been involved in the game for 5+ years should know what I mean.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the fluff, have 40+ 40k & Warhammer books on my shelf, but I hate GW more and more every time some kid convinces their parents to buy them a box of Ultrasmurfs for $65 that cost $35 when I was their age (about 10 years). Fuck you Games Workshop, with a big rusty choppa.
Hell... *dons monocle and a superior air* I remember the good old days when paints cost £1!
Sound about right both naruto and bleach did that to me for all the reasons you said and the fact that they kept contradicting their own continuity though Naruto wasn't too too bad for it they did a few things but compared to bleach it wasn't to bad. Anywho after 2 years of reading the same fight I stopped caring n stopped reading both in Naruto and Bleach. I still love One Piece though.roushutsu said:Off the top of my head, Naruto. I used to be a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge Narutard back in the day, but sometime into the second series was when I started to lose interest. Characters were being introduced, only to be cast aside and completely forgotten about. Very few characters really developed further after the 2 year time jump, which is unfortunate because the side characters I thought were one of the show's biggest strengths. Sasuke's role as a villain is bland and generic as hell compared to the other villains we saw. Everyone had unique powers and strategies that made the actual fight scenes interesting to watch because you didn't know what to expect, but come Shippuden now it's fallen into "To be a competent ninja, you must out God-mod the last guy!"
I don't know what happened, but it just seemed like the series was going backwards or going in directions that just weren't that interesting. Right around the time when Deidara died fighting Sasuke was when I said "DONE!" and I've never looked back.
Same here. When I first started playing WoW and got comfortable with it, I was so sure that I would be addicted to the game for a long time. Cataclysm also ended my love for it, except it was the community that killed it for me. Cata caused prominent rifts to form and players became hostile to each other. Not to mention that the content was tougher and required you to spend a lot of time doing it. I played the game casually, so I wanted to steer away from all of that. Except for trying out the two new races and the revamped starting zones, I never touched the new Cata 80+ content. Canceling my subscription felt a bit bittersweet but I am so glad I left.Eddie the head said:World of Warcraft I guess. Cataclysm hit, don't need to say much more that that. The game just got boring.
I'll 2nd (3rd?) Bleach. I'm still reading it because I was some sort of payoff/ending but I definitely don't love it anymore. My problem with it is that the SS Arc was awesome and introduced the politics of Soul Society alongside all of the interesting captain characters, al of that quickly got cast aside for the Arrancar and the pace slowed to slower than glacial. We're still waiting to find out about Ichigo's dad's shinigami powers and he was shown to possess them neary 3 years ago now.aba1 said:Sound about right both naruto and bleach did that to me for all the reasons you said and the fact that they kept contradicting their own continuity though Naruto wasn't too too bad for it they did a few things but compared to bleach it wasn't to bad.
