Does your computer do weird things you didn't the hell for or how? Like some digital demon had infiltrated your computer and messed with things? Well if you finally figured out why, do tell!

For me, I had decided to try the Dvorak keyboard layout after some suggestions on how much better it was than your standard QWERTY, so I installed though never bothered to use it. Now and then my computer would change my language to Dvorak but I didn't know why. Turns out hitting CTRL+Shift would change my layout.

I've learned a lot about basic scripting and the rudiments of programming code by either hear-tell, xkcd jokes, or reading about useful scripts/plugins for Garry's Mod, Photoshop, 3DS Max and After Effects.

Not really, as I program for a living.
Whenever stuff like that happens, I know how to fix it almost immediately.

I stopped using Internet Explorer because I couldn't figure out one of these problems. For some reason, whenever I opened IE and then immediately closed it for whatever reason, it would spawn copies of whatever page I was on until it can't spawn anymore. Eventually I figured out that going to a different link before closing would remedy this, but I never discovered how to stop it entirely. Oh well, Chrome is pretty good too.

Same here, though I don't program for a living (I just dabble in it).
Not very many things confuse me computer wise anymore.

After breaking my old keyboard, got a new one and only just figured out why my function keys weren't working, there's an on/off key for the function keys, imagine that

I think I accidentally installed an internet toolbar while I was downloading a paint program for my computer, and now I can't right click and select "open new tab." So after tonnes of fiddling around, I learned I just have to hit command + click to open a new tab. Best. Discovery. Ever.

Shit, I just tried it and right clicking works :(

For a while I was wondering why the hell my comp would slow way down when playing games or anything. And it only seemed to happen on Sunday nights. It wasn't till today, about a month after setting it up, that I realized that I had setup my comp to do a full system backup on Sundays starting at 8PM. I was stunned that I didn't remember that.

This one is more wishful thinking than actually figuring something out but my computer tends to randomly switch to it's factory key setup instead of the localized (I'm Icelandic). Happened on my old computer too, so I know it's some key combination.

I just found out my G60j laptop has an overclocking feature.

After using it a bit it really doesn't do much and after some research it turns out it decreases performance.

and I also just turned on the blue tooth on my phone and now have this awesome connectivity going on.

My computer does weird things, but I can't figure out what it is.

Mainly, using windows media player sometimes causes it to crash. The screen will freak out and then a bluescreen pops up. It rarely does this, but the only cause is using windows media player. Well that and trying to delete this one file in my Fallout 3 folder that I have dubbed to be cursed, as doing anything with it causes a bluescreen despite it carrying no virus or anything else.

Yeah I'm not good with computers.

My ATI card will always fail to change resolutions and monitors the first time I try to switch them. I have since discovered that it is all because Catalyst is a bloated load of crap and Windows slowly kills itself day by day.

Hmm... I've learned that stopping explorer.exe on the task manager pretty much takes off all your icons and toolbars ><

I was using Photoshop for years and every now and then my brush size indicator would change to a cross hair. I could never workout what was happening and would save my work and restart the PC and that fixed it. I figured it was some kind of bug. Then one day one of my fellow 'togs pointed out that it was because capslock was on. Duh! Thing is I have since helped out at least three other 'togs with this simple bit of advice.
