Since my dad got me into gaming, he never said anything.
But when I was younger I would usually get home from school and play mah good ol genesis, and within 10 seconds of me picking up my controller my mom would come in, without fail, and say "You've been playing video games all day, you should go outside and play."
Even though I had just been outside with my friends for a good 2 hours while we came home from school, we lived in a farming town in Germany and the route we took home did take about 2 hours, and beside the fact that I had only been home for about 5 mins and neither the TV or the genesis were even on...
So I used logic and said that if I were to play with my friends I'd just be doing the same thing but in a different living room.
This continued until middle school where I invested in portable video gaming solutions.
And in high school I mostly did PC gaming, with my friends, so when my mom told me to play with my friends... I said I am, because I was.
