Seriously, amazing game. I recently played through it twice more (got Brass Balls the second time). My recommendation: buy it, and play with the Vita Chambers off. They were never as gamebreaking as some have said, but it's amazing how much more intense the game gets if you turn them off.
As has been said, including by Mr Steampunk Lincoln, the RPG elements aren't too strong, but the story and gameplay are at least on par with, if not better than, Half Life 2.
