Rent. There's absolutely nothing to do once you beat the game, and outside it's story (which I didn't care much for, but apparently it's super duper awesome) it really isn't that much fun.

Don't think, just fucking do it. As a Gamer you are required by gamer law to play Bioshock... with your pants off.... In the dark... at least once...

As most posters here have suggested, yes, do yourself a favour and buy Bioshock. I picked it up for a bit less than half price for PS3.

This. It was a good game, and nothing more.

Ah, Steampunk Lincoln!

...sorry, I had to. And I agree with you, so it's not off topic!

Seriously, amazing game. I recently played through it twice more (got Brass Balls the second time). My recommendation: buy it, and play with the Vita Chambers off. They were never as gamebreaking as some have said, but it's amazing how much more intense the game gets if you turn them off.

As has been said, including by Mr Steampunk Lincoln, the RPG elements aren't too strong, but the story and gameplay are at least on par with, if not better than, Half Life 2.

Well, I lost a copy after I beat it and bought another one. And then found the old one.

Anyway, you can guess my opinion.

It isn't much of an RPG. You can upgrade your weapons and powers but other then that its not really an RPG. But it is by far one of the best games out there. I am a huge fan of it and totally recommend it. It is definitely worth the buy and it has good replay value. Everything about it is amazing. Plus there is DLC challenge levels only for the Ps3.

Well, I just saw a lot of posts saying that if I loved Half Life 2, then I'll love Bioshock. I'll take your accounts into consideration. Plus the fact that the PS3 version had something more to offer single-player replayability.

"Should I get Bioshock?"

I shall answer your question in the form of a pie:

Play with the Vita Chambers off, as said by Orannis. If it's on, nothing's gonna stop you from doing something stupid (like say, bum rush a Big Daddy with reckless abandon). It's better to instill the fear of death early on.
