I currently own a Dell 1.8 Dual core Vostro 200 with Vista
4 gigs of ram
32 bit operating system
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
Bought in 2005

It runs fine but i am running out of space and am thinking of either upgrading some parts, or just getting a whole machine, and recommendations.

A 32bit OS will only recognize 3 gb of ram so you are wasting a gb of it. I would say getting a new computer should be based on what processor you are running in there. If you have a decent one just upgrade the video card, if not look at a new rig.

It won't be able to use 4gbs though, 3.5(ish) it will.

What's your processor? Why are you upgrading and if it's just space you may aswell get an external HDD for less than £100.

If it's just space then get an external HDD, if you want to play games then you could upgrade individual components so they are more up to date.

Get a fairly beefy laptop. Portable usefulness AND the hardware to play fairly high-end games. It all depends on your budget (and your lifestyle), but I can't imagine life without my Vaio.
