I was wondering how many people actually hear words they are thinking. When I'm thinking, I hear a quieter version of my voice say the words in my head. So, my question is, do you actually hear the words you're thinking? Or does something go through your mind?

Thinking for me is a constant narration provided by my inner voice. I am constantly critiquing and criticizing the world around me in lieu of actual thought. So I keep my mouth shut. I figure it's for the best.

Yeah I do. A weird thing to do is to actually speak everything your thinking. It leads to some weird conversations with yourself..

I do all the time. It makes conversations with myself quite interesting. ^_^

I know what that is... Sometimes you need to keep reminding yourself not to talk out loud.

I do too. Sometimes, I'll throw other people into my thought stream as well, imagining what they would say based on what I know about their personality. When I'm sitting somewhere, embroiled in a mental debate with myself, I don' even pay attention to what's going on around me, so when people finally get my attention, they will almost invariably ask "what were you thinking about?" to which I have no good answer.

I think a lot in the shower or late at night, which is usually (if I have revelations), when I have revelations. I actually hear what "I think my voice sounds like". This leads to problems sometimes with paying attention, as I can't focus on person speaking at a time, and if that person's me, then I'll start drifting off.
