Nearly everyone has called you something like this. Share your stories.
I've been called a hipster and an emo for listening to Bright Eyes, yet I play the Beatles and I get called for popularity snob. I always try to ignore these claims to the best of my abilities so it's all good.

When I started wearing all black clothing in college/6th Form (around 5 years ago) it was suggested that I was an Emo.

I was somewhat confused seeing as "All black clothing = Goth" has always been the stereotype I assumed existed.

Because I have a spiderbite I must be emo.

For those who dont know. A spiderbite is a pair of black piercings on one side of your lip.

A lot of people have thought that I'm a stoner because I wear a flannel. Nice observation...I've never done anything intoxicating besides shots of Baileys Irish Cream...

"You don't like halo?!? Get out of the house!"

Dead serious here, but thankfully I was just about to leave anyways XD

In all reality though: Your a gamer, so that makes you a geek/nerd is the only one I've ever really been smacked around with. A lot. To the point of not really caring if I get called such anymore, even if it is just to piss people off by it not affecting me

I use to have long straightened hair that flipped over my eye, and everyone called me emo for it. I just really liked the way it looked, but I got called that nearly everyday. I've never listened to any bands labeled emo or shown any sign of depression, but I still got it.

That's half the reason I keep my hair wavy. The other half being it's a pain in the ass to straighten your hair every morning.

When ever I tell people I want to make games as a career they laugh and call me a gamer nerd. And im perfectly ok with that.

Liking Call of Duty: Black Ops, pop music, and Survivor/The Amazing Race makes me a total moron.

Because having some mindless fun with some things automatically means you consider those the best of their respective mediums.

I like niche titles like Disgaea and Persona 3/4 to be hip. On this forum. It was pretty stupid.

I've been accused of being a communist just because I wear a russian ushanka with a communist emblem.

Some people...

I found it interesting. I began reading my way through the political spectrum to figure out how things actually worked and recieved a whole variety of insults from a whole variety of people depending on what I was reading. I think the best was when I was reading the Communist Mannifesto on a sydney train and had a veteran start yelling at me and telling me about the sacrifices he made. I quickly changed to the other book I was carrying: Mistakes of the Cold War.

The only thing that I can remember being called (to my face), and I quote the kid (as best as I can remember, and he one of my best friends, mind you) "Ben, you're just an absolute bad-ass. You drive a Suzuki with the best sound system in school, has the best sounding engine, the funniest horn, enjoy singing "Jizz in my Pants" at the top of your voice in the middle of the hallway with teachers around, and are an absolute freakin' genius." It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So is "bad-ass" a stereotype? Especially if told by best friends? Because I'm sure there are some people who absolutely freakin' hate me for all of that stuff...hehe.
