So apparently the nerdsphere is in a state of endless happy as Futurama is coming back with its original voice actors. Am I the only one who is worried?
Do you all remember another funny cartoon that was cancelled by Fox but managed to resurrect itself? That show was Family Guy. You all know Family guy right, the great show that was killed but instead of getting resurrected properly they decided to do the lazy thing and zombify it instead bringing it back but without the writers who made it good. This resulted in the abomination that is now Family Guy.

Is it possible that Futurama will go the way of Family Guy or am I just being silly?

I... don't understand. Zombify? As in, less than it was? I enjoy every episode of Family Guy exactly the same, I just like the show in general.

As for Futurama... no. You just can't screw up Futurama. Not with the near-limitless possibilities they have. Unlike the Simpsons, where you can tell it's been running for way too long.

just to make you interested. futurama may or may not take the same path as family guy. they have 2 different writers for christ sake's.. so it probably will not have the same effect.

i would be hard pressed to find a decision of fox that has made sense. i want my firefly back... anyways. idk i doubt they got EVERY SINGLE person who worked on the original back, writers, voice actors, janitors of the sound studio, the guy that runs out to get the right kind of bagel... sometimes the chemistry is REALLY hard to duplicate.

I am one of the 5! Although a few arent as great as the first seasons, I felt most of them are adequate and quite funny.

But yeah, Family Guy was still funny when I was watching it. That was a while ago (I stopped watching TV almost altogether), but it was definitely after the show was uncanceled.

I actually like the new Family Guy better, I still think it's just as funny, but it's also somewhat more intelligent and politically minded. In a way it's like the difference between the old episodes of South Park and the new ones.

Matt and David are both behind the new Futurama, the same people who worked on the series helped make the 4 movies (which are all great, though the 2cd and 3rd movies aren't as good), and the general vibe behind the Futurama staff is that they're happy to be back.

Give it a chance. Oh btw, if you rewatch the old Family Guy, you'll find its actually quite similar to the new one. Its less obvious, but they both follow the same general formula.
