In before "OMG another Skyrim thread!" :p

I just need a little help, don't worry I'm not going to pour my heart out about the game, although feel free to hijack this thread with those sorts of comments after I get what I need!

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knows the deal with picking up and moving objects in the game. More specifically bodies. What are the determining factors as to how easy it is to move a body? Sometimes I have no trouble lifting one above my head and tossing it off a cliff and other times it barely lifts 2 inches off the ground.

I mainly want to know because i can't seem to get severed heads above the 2 inch mark either, I'm sure others have seen that video where someone has decorated a shelf with various heads so it must be possible to shift the little buggers somehow!

Any help would be appreciated.

Apologies if this isn't so easy on the eyes to read, I haven't slept for about 40 hours so I doubt my efforts to proof read have done much good.

Um, I'm no expert, but have you tried fus-ro-dah -ing the corpse then picking it up?
Maybe the engine thinks the body/head is stuck in the ground somehow, and it just needs a little encouragement.
Hmm could give that a go. Not very helpful in crowded areas though, just end up making a mess or pissing a lot of people off.

I had a theory it was something to do with the amount of other junk items, npcs etc. that were on screen or within a certain proximatey of the player character. I don't know for sure though, hence why I'm asking.

In my experience people seem easy to move while bears and suchlike appear to be 'heavy' but yeah I think it can get stuck on things as other people have said.
