This is extremely irritating

So, apparently the Escapist has recently updated the ads it hosts. How do I know this? Because there is a bloody massive banner taking up a fair chunk of the screen on every page I load! Right now it is telling me about FIFA 16 for the xbone.

I'm fine with ads. It is how websites make money. I am not fine with intrusive ones like this that block the webpage. I know I can close it but it is still incredibly annoying.

Anyone else got an opinion on this?

Yes. The Escapist doesn't take suggestions from the forum section about this. Try Feedback messages or the Tech Team.

Adds irks me but I can live with them. What bugs me is that they seem to be sabotaging the videos on the site. If an add runs the video is always corrupted and does not run. If I don't get an add everything's fine.

It could be my imagination but judging by the cover seems to suffer the most from this.

Yeah, you need to let the Tech Team [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Tech-Team] know about that. Try taking a screenshot with something like Lightshot to show them.

Maybe you've got a problem with Flash, I dunno. But letting them know is the only way they can change it (staff and PubClub members won't see ads unless they're logged out).
