Team Fortress 2.

Huntspam luckshots? Check.
FaN scoots being teleported behind me? Check.
Black Box soldiers getting magical airshots? Check.
Living aimbots as Snipers? Check.
Natascha heavies and Degreaser proros around every corner? Check and check.

And yet I have pured 500+ hours into that game. Loving every single second.

Metroid Prime 2 was pretty tough at parts. Mostly because the air killed you. Yes. That was annoying.

Also hilariously difficult from that game? The Spider Ball Guardian. The Spider Ball Guardian.
Yes, this. I loved the game so much that I didn't mind, but some parts were brutally difficult. Most people say that the Boost Guardian is the hardest, but I have to agree with Spider Guardian. That thing gave me nightmares...*shudders*

Also, Omega Pirate/the final boss from Prime 1 and Mogenar/Dark Samus from Prime 3. Hypermode difficulty can go fuck itself.
Ah, Dark Samus on Hypermode. Yeah, that was the only boss battle in the Prime series that was more annoying than the Spider Ball Guardian.

The Spider Guardian was tough because it took incredible timing and precision to take down - the fight was ridiculous, but not unfair. With Dark Samus in MP3 (again, only on Hypermode), on the other hand, I felt like some of her attacks were physically impossible to dodge. Still, that was an epic fight, and an appropriately brutal way to end the overall fairly difficult Prime series.

MoH Frontline on Hard. No regen in between checkpoints and if you die, you have to start the whole level over again...and the checkpoints are spread out pretty far apart. Might just be me being used to today's shooters and all. Good game but pretty dam difficult.

Yes, agreed. Although the Boost Guardian became miles easier in the Trilogy version because of the morph ball hop.

I may be alone in thinking this, but I thought Mogenar on Hyper was the hardest fight of the trilogy. I mean, just figuring out how to beat him takes a while, you have very few energy tanks at that point, he does a ton of damage, you're constantly switching between normal/morph ball/hyper mode, and he can regenerate almost as fast as you can deal damage. Not sure whether you had difficulty with him or not, but I sure did.
Trilogy made several of the more painful fights from Echoes easier, yeah. More accessible, sure, but the decreased difficulty (read: increased fairness) of Trilogy almost made me feel like I was cheating myself. I dunno, my brain works that way. Guess I can always satisfy my masochistic tendencies on the Gamecube version. :D

As for Mogenar...forgot about him, heh. The first time I fought him, I found him exceedingly difficult; as you noted, learning how to take him down takes quite some time. He's a good bit easier on repeat playthroughs, though, in a way the highly-technical Spider Ball and Dark Samus fights aren't - probably way they stuck in my mind.
