Seriously, there's like four different medleys based around this chord progression and all the songs which are based around int, from about 4 decades of music.

And of course 12 bar blues, do-wop, quite a lot of 80s rock.

What exactly consitutes 'Pop'? The term means Popular Music. So in the 60s Psychcadelic Rock was 'Pop' music, in the 70s Heavy Rock was 'Pop' music, in the 80s synthesised Adult Oriented Rock was 'Pop'.

Yes, lots of songs today sound similar, but songs from every decade have sounded similar.

And I'm not even gonna get started on Punk, which is practically identical whoever you're listening to.

Seconded, and also because the majority of people either auto-tune themselves so even their mother doesn't regonize them, or it's rapper bragging about how rich they are. Though some is all right, most of it is awful, but there can be a few song that rise above.

And in 5 years at best, everyone will have moved on..

Works best in stereo. On the left we have Katy Perry, on the right we have Kesha (I refuse to write her name with a dollar symbol due to basic human decency).

People laugh when I say all pop music sounds the same and is specifically designed to emulate itself in an endless loop. This, I believe, proves my point. I haven't done a 'mashup' here, I've literally just played them at the same time.

Is this a sign that music is stagnating? How long is it going to be before 'pop' music is actually good again?

I usually have low expectations when walking into a thread about how "this is why I don't like X" Because it usually involves one example of at best two points. This one didn't disappoint. At least it later gets fluffed out, it seems, but OMG TWO SONGS IN THE SAME KEY WITH THE SAME PROGRESSION? WELL THAT JUST TEARS IT!

The best reason I can name with your two acts is that they have all the redeeming qualities of herpes. But I could dig around for 30 seconds and find examples of that for Rock, Rap, Metal, Folk, Country, etc.

Vomiting is actually very pleasant. It's the nausea before the vomiting that totally blows. You just keep holding it in and holding it in and when you inevitably hurl, it's like: "mmmmm..hot damn I should have done that 20 minutes ago."

I have heard it before and i thought it was hilarious.

It is common for songs to sound the same. There have been mutiple cases that have tried to sue certain music artists. It will happen and pop songs are all about making the listener have a up beat sort of a feel good appeal.

Some pop songs are very well done and makes me want to listen to them but it is like anything you need to go through the bad to see the good. or in this case hear the good.

I just don't get why the majority of people really enjoy songs which just involve the same word repeated? If I do a song and repeat the word pudding, would everyone buy it?

I'll listen to Ke Dollar Sign Ha's "Tik ToK" and "Take It Off" for one reason and one reason only: They're as catchy as hell.

However, "Blah Blah Blah" is the worst thing ever put on radio. So I suppose it balances.

And this is why my modern pop listening is limited almost exclusively to Lady Gaga. At least her songs have some inventiveness, and a marked difference between them.

Also, I respect the way she has made a career out of trolling the press and the music industry. No-one ever sees the "real" Lady Gaga, but everyone thinks that they do. That lady is no idiot, years on the songwriting circuit teach you a few things.

The only song that really farts my head in is this nut it's only because i hear it it at every turn...I dare ANYONE to listen to all of this


But because i have a lot of friends that like this music, i just get used to it and start liking it myself.

This is the only one i still hate because...well...Listen to it, you'll see why. it gets stuck in your head though so be warned.

If i like it, i will listen to it, if i hear it on a night out, i'll dance (Hell even to the song above). Music shouldn't really bother you that bad. Even if it is the same stuff over and over.
