Well that looks kinda cool. Way to take that lame ass legendary and make him awesome.
Jirachi is still a thing :p

OT:Is there any hope in the post game being something good and not garbage? I did have fun going through "Y" (minus the baddies being lame compared to Plasma), but post game kill any eggcitement for my egg run.

Seriously though...it's base form is "Cell" Zygarde? Could someone explain how the hell you're supposed to catch - or even see - a "cell" pokemon? :p

Hi! How's it going?

OT: I'd be surprised if it's a five-step evolution, though if you start the GAME with it that... that would be pretty f*cking awesome actually.

Is it any coincidence that this Pokemon is debuting in Pokemon Z?
Except it's already been debuted. It exists in X/Y/OR/AS (last two via trade, I guess). I believe the Formes were even already known to exist, though not if/how they could be achieved. That wasn't so much a debut as it was people always look through the game data and find this stuff.

And also the third game hasn't been confirmed. We all assume it's coming, but the point is it's probably not a coincidence this game isn't debuting in an unannounced game.

Though what this article doesn't mention is the new anime series will be called "XY &Z." This seems to make it more probable.

Freud would have a field day with those kneepads.

I don't like this thing, honestly. Waaay too digimon up in here. why does it go dog-snake-robot? What was the thought process that says Gain four limbs, lose them, then gain four different limbs as upgrades in power? I know pokemon has evolution down about as well as Fundamentalists, but this is just silly.

According to a comment on YouTube its evolution is apparently based on Norse Mythology:

"the perfect form is Hel (Loki's daughter)
50% form Nidhogg (Nidhogg being a dragon who gnaws at a root of the world tree, Yggdrasil)
10% form Garmr (Hel's dog)
blob form idk
cell form idk
from Norse Mythology"

I don't like it... if I interpreted that scan correctly, there's no consistency in its evolution.

IF that were true... Well, that actually would be pretty cool. The lower level should have been like a squirrel (for Ratatoskr) or something. Not sure how the hel (hehe) that final forme is supposed to correlate with the Goddess of the Underworld though.

There was a deer in Yggdrasil too, If I recall, maybe that's what Xerneas is supposed to be. And Yvetal is one of Odin's ravens?

Yeah the 100% form is mecha looking (the hexagon shapes reinforce it). Still I prefered the mecha form than its 50% form. Oh and why is 10% is a dog or has it something to do with the Nordic lore?

That Ash Greninja new form, is that a mega form?

Actually what they found were two unused moves in Zygarde's movelist (Thousand Arrows and Thousand waves) similar to Kyurems treatment in B&W.

Is it just me or is Pokémon starting to become more like Digimon?
... Because that is totally how the newest gen of Pokémon are starting to look like.
It's weaker forms even have the really basic designs the 'Fresh' and 'In-training' level Digimon had.

I kinda hate this Mega-evolution/multiple form stuff, the designs are always complete cluster-fucks aesthetically.

Oh god we're back to the gen 4 days of design. It's a hideous mashup of shapes, looking far more mechanical than biological. Considering these are meant to be naturally occurring animals, that's a no go. Not to mention why does a worm turn into a dog? Why is it a dog? There is no consistency or coherence behind these designs. I knew zygarde was incomplete. It was clearly like Kyruem. But I was hoping that, given how good the designs of X/Y were, it wouldn't look garish.

Oh how foolish I was.

Great, another stupid looking, unnecessary legendary evolution for me to ignore.
I don't get nintendos obsession with those.

In the main game, legendaries basically are overpowered cheatcodes that suck the fun out of battle and you can't even individualize them because you can't breed them.

In online battles, most of them are either terrible or straight up banned. Yay.
Glad you spent your budget on something I can't use.

And by the way, why would they constantly spoil the darn things, goddamnit?
There was a time when people were bloody well surprised by mewtwo and zapdos because they weren't flaunted around pre-release nor were they on the cover of the game, goddamnit.

True...and I'm not surprised you mentioned the Digimon comparison considering the Digimon comparisons people were making to Mega-Evolutions in general.

This Zygarde line kinda looks like an entire In-Training-Rookie-Champion-Ultimate-Mega Digivolution line, and the pseudo-pixel like scale design isn't helping dissuade that comparison.
