[HEADING=1]This Month In Forums

April 2010[/HEADING]

Welcome to TIEM Magazine's first publication of This Month In Forums! Where Escapist users like you submit the best posts and users to be honored on our monthly publication.

Though submissions were scarce this month, we are able to get enough just to squeak by. He have high hopes that our May publication will receive more submissions so we might continue this project. So on behalf of myself and the rest of the TMIF council, we would like to thank you for making this idea possible.

Now, let's get to the awards shall we?

End User License Agreements are a real hassle. They're long, boring, and often times written by Klingon lawyers. Well our very own forum veteran manaman decided to have a go at de-fanging EULAs and showed that they really aren't all they're cracked up to be in his post [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.187460-EULAs-Why-the-hell-do-we-agree-to-them#5736910] on April 10th.

BlueInkAlchemist is by no means a stranger to quality work, however on 14th of April BlueInk did more than just make a well thought out thread, he created a hotbed of discussion which lasted a good two days and spanned nearly 6 whole pages. His thread titled: Girls in Gaming [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.188328-Girls-in-Gaming] topic not only drew in some major attention to a major issue surrounding the gaming industry, it also brought in the ladies.

Mind you it may have been to discuss the subject matter and share horror stories of misogyny in gaming, but still...

Red Guard Alex_P is known to be both brutal in his punishment and at the debate podium. On an almost constant basis Alex is either able to tear an opponent's argument to ribbons [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.186782-This-is-why-i-hate-politics#5690360], or just create a post made of nothing but pure win [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.192041-Theist-general-religious-belief-or-Agnosticism-Only-one-or-the-other-can-exist-in-a-logical-agent?page=2#6055119].

So, Mr. P, for your continued excellence on podium and at the microphone, you are awarded TIEM Magazine Poster of the Month Award.

We will be sending you the award along with some cake. Just be sure not to questions its credibility.

The great lord Haruhi graced me with another day to post. The least I could do was return a favor.

It actually got done, good show.

But why does it say 'Thread of the Month' in 2 different categories?
Tiem states that Alex_P's should read "Poster of the Month"

It's a trivial thing,but I thought you should know.

You're right. Corrected.

Sorry, I write all this stuff up on a Notepad so it's kind of hard to notice problems.

Best Thread was the only award that got more than one submission (and one of those was entered by me ), which is why it's the only cateogory that got an honourable mention. If we got more submissions, we would've listed more honourable mentions; it's that simple.

As it says in the OP, we can enter a submission ourselves if we get desperate and have nothing else to contribute, but we are currently aiming to run off of submissions from the community as much as possible. So if you see a post or thread or poster (or review, as something we're contemplating for a potential future cateogory) which you think is worthy of at least an honourable mention, then submit it to us and we'll see if it deserves a spot here.

Jolly good show, chaps. See you all next month.

Yeah, essentially what Zombie Fish said. Thread of the Month was the only one that got a submission from the community.

We need you guys, so keep your eyes out for something cool and let the right people know about it!

Shouldn't there be a "User of The Month" Category? Or does the "Poster of the Month" Thing count for that?

Ooh, nice. A magazine, getting a mention here is worth a lot more than another badge.
May I ask about those painkillers and the reason for them?
I also just figured out where your user name comes from.

Good luck with the magazine.
