I hate this too, and I think it's sexist-- it implies that it's not "manly" to be seen wearing these things, so therefore a special term has to be invented to make it okay for a man to cross into the forbidden realm of the "relegated to women". See also: Bronies, another term I fucking detest for the same damn reason. (Can't call themselves "MLP:FiM fans" and thereby join a fandom that's been around since the '80s, because that fandom is mostly female and the show is about female characters, so it needs a special term to reclaim it for men to feel safe doing it!)

BTW, the people using these terms ought to realize that most if not all of these items were worn (and very fashionably) by men before they were considered women's wear. Including sandals, hose, and heels. And pink, for that matter, once considered a very manly color (during Victorian times) because it was near in hue to blood-- the "womanly" color then was, ironically enough, blue, because it was considered passive and evocative of the Virgin Mary. Even "metrosexuals" are doing nothing more than following in the footsteps of Beau Brummell.

The irony in your statement is that there are probably more men with more lean muscle mass and lower bodyfat % than men 40 years ago. Alot of that has to do with fitness knowledge and alot of it has to do with the ease and price of supplements and super supplements.

There are a lot of skinny, tight pants wearing guys out there too but and while i'll admit the fashion has changed, there were a lot of skinny guys back in the day too.

In all honesty, I have taken purposeful "stay at home" vacations with my wife before, but that's mainly because we hate traveling. It's usually just time off together where you go out to eat 2-3 meals out of the day and drink too much.

Which is shockingly like my "vacations" when I leave home, except I'm on the beach.
