this stupid red button

i clicked it shortly after i joined just because... i actually dunno WTH i was thinking. i guess i wanted the badge. (GET ALL THE BADGES!) but it's persisted in staying in my top badges and i want it out of there.

i already did a forum search and came up empty. pretty much the only threads that came up were of people laughing at the OP and i didn't have the patience to wade through the BS to get to the actual HELP. also the poster of the thread i found OBVIOUSLY didn't get good help that worked because the red button was still in the top badges for him...

i've tried moving it directly, i've tried bumping it off by putting other badges in front of it. NOTHING WORKS i just want it out of the top spots.

The evil plague of the staff continues to spread. You'll have to bring Kross some sacrifices before it'll get moved. Or you could just PM him about it.

First, log out of The Escapist. Once you log out, clear out your cache (this is under history in Chrone and Options in Firefox). Once you clear your cache, log back in and try again.

I find that 99% of issues with the internet can be solved this way : )

If it fails: Sacrifice an animal to Kross here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Tech-Team] as stated by Redlin5. If he finds your sacrifice worthy, he will fix it.

i'm actually on a library computer (i havn't owned a computer of my own since March, which is why i disappeared completely from the site since then only to recently resurface) and they clear cache automatically when the browser closes. so that dosn't help...

the same 5 i see under my avvi.
Blink Dog, Litch King, Quarian, the stupid aggrivating F***ing red button, shurikens and lightning...
then The Master, Tails, Fox, and others...

EDIT: odd... i just noticed, but under my avvi the Shurikens and Quarian badges are swapped...

just before i posted the topic i tried changing it up again to get rid of the button... but i kept the top 5 order basically the same

EDIT: as i said i'm on a library computer... place closes at 1PM eastern on saturday and is closed on Sunday (internet is out at my place) so i'll be back on on Monday to keep figuring this out

Contact [user]Kross[/user], or anyone on the Tech Team [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Tech-Team] group to talk about it. If I'm not mistaken, the Red Button was meant to appear on the bottom of the badge list as a permanent position, but as best I can tell, it locks itself to wherever it was at the time of being poked. For most users, that will keep it off the top five. In your case, seems not.

Most of the staff around around on the weekends. I'll point Kross over to this thread when I see him on Monday, but you'll likely get a better response time PMing him yourself or making a post on the Tech Team group. Not sure what to advise beyond that.

When you go into PROFILE -> Badges, I presume you see list on the left?

That "orange boxed" list on the left should match the "orange boxed" list on the right. Does it?

If it does and the red button is in the left list, I'd like you to click and hold on the red button and drag it down. I'll use my "Hot Topic" badge to show an example:

Once you've shift it, make sure you hit SAVE ORDER on the right (orange boxed for your convenience). A lot of people miss it. You will not see any change in the screen.

Once you've saved the order, click out of your profile and click back in and it should have moved the badge. If it did, it seems to take about five minutes for this to take place in the forum itself.

Join the chat and ask for assistance there. If you go through all these steps and it's still failing, I assume that it must be a server-side issue, which puny mortals such as myself can not help with

i would've moved the red button badge itself if i could. it actually dosn't let me move the button itself. i can only move badges around it. i thought that was a quirk of the badge itself, not something only i was experiencing.

Yes, this is exactly what I've found out so far. And I did want to have it in top 4 (it was the dark ages before we had 5 badges to display) but I couldn't find away to move it, so it seems to be pinned to its place, rather than the bottom.

For the record, I no longer want it up there, I found better stuff. And the novelty of knowing somebody else clicks it wears off.
