I realize that the E-mail account tied to my Xbox Live account had been deleted due to what I believe is because of the fact that I logged on it in a while. I first noticed this when I started my Xbox and I couldn't sign into messenger. I go and check the E-mail account I used to sign up with and I apparently can't get in. Even signing in on the Xbox website doesn't help. I'm not sure if that means I'll be unable to do things like voice chat and have a gold account, but it does mean I won't be able to log one to the site.

Anyone else this is a terrible idea? Having your E-mail deleted because you don't use it often. Granted, they probably do that to conserve server space or something but it had only been about a month since I had used that account. What do you think.

Wow thats quite a situation. I think you should call Microsoft and your email provider and tell them whats going on.

i have a dump email i use for social networking emails that you never look at. last i checked it had over 2300 unread messages and i havent signed in for a while. brb, ill see if its still there....

....yup. just signed in. and its at a whopping 4099 unread messages. someone probably hacked the email and deleted the account. i dont think addresses are deleted by server maintanence. i reccomend calling xbox customer support and try to change your email over the phone.

You can use XBL as normal however you wouldn't be able to get special rewards.

For example, gaining all the vidmasters in Halo to obtain recon requires you to use your email linked to your XBL account to unlock recon.
That's fine then, I don't care about the special awards anyway, and this coming from an achievement whore such as myself.

Are you sure you didn't just forget your password?
