Sorry, no religious extremism here.
I was actually wondering what on earth we are all doing up at 3:00 or later some nights. Honestly. The forums are being updated frequently, by plenty of people. What are we thinking? Heck, I do things after 2 or 3 that normal people do during the day, like washing dishes, reading, going out on bike rides, etc. When other people are around, usually the goings on are quite a bit less than normal.
One such occasion was disastrous...
Anyhows, A few friends and I were hanging out at one of our houses and realized that it was one in the morning. Because we are all so responsible, we decided to go swimming. Now, the person who's house we were at is one of those townhome things, and so the pool is a couple of blocks away. We all hop on his family's bikes and head down to the pool. Upon arrival, he discovered that he had left his key to the pool-fence-gate back at the house. So we just climbed the fence. We went unnoticed for some time, and decided that we were pushing our luck.
We returned to his house and dried ourselves off, retreated to the basement and had a Soul Calibur 2 tournament, blindfolded. Great times. Some time and several games later one of us heard a car drive by and looked out the basement window. He started laughing and we all realized that the sun was coming up. It was five in the morning. Instead of acting like normal, intelligent people and getting what little sleep we could, we went swimming again. And he forgot his key, again.
This time, however, the security guard found us. He walked by to open up the pool and there we were, frolicking away. He yelled something at us and we all bailed as fast as possible, biking frantically away. I looked back to see if he was following us or calling anyone, and crashed into someone biking next to me. The impact threw us both quite a distance, but we were not severely injured. We went back to pick up the bikes and realized that while his bike was damaged superficially, barely scratched, mine was in far worse condition. His petal had sliced through half the spokes on my front wheel and part of my handlebars were bent in a very unhealthy way, in addition to major scratching and denting.
He had been riding the person's sister's old bike, barely worth a dime. I had been riding his mother's brand new thousand dollar mountain bike.
Boy, did we get it when his parents woke up.
That was about 5 or 6 years ago, and his parents and I are on uneven terms to this day.
Anyhows, anyone else got stories of terrible decisions being made past midnight, or specific reasons we are up this late? Insomnia? Boredom? Loud neighbors?
